amazing DJ at this event with those slow G-funk bangers allowing the dancers to show their groove & flava. it's not all about high tempos and small noises that people who know the music can 'beat kill'. green gave a masterclass in dancing & the popping scene as a whole could do more events that take it back to groove & funk. most of this 'popping music' straight up sucks it's embarrassing.

Haven't seen green get down like this in a long while, he was really in his element, outstanding performance. Kite had the choice of music against him in all honesty, but that's the name of the game you got to be versatile at times like that, kite is an amazing popper but you can see him fall short whith certain types of music rhytms, whereas greenteck is a dancer who is really situational he is either feeling the overall vibe of the battle/setting/people or not and it very apparantly shows in his dancing. Either way great performance on both ends.

I don't know if it was exactly that, I think that more than that he was enjoying the tournament and I think it is because in the tournament they had a lot of level poper and he being so competitive he likes this type of tournaments with level poper what he does which focuses more ... since I have seen it in several other tournaments where there is not much level and as it gets bored and just wants to finish them fast because he knows he will win them without trying too hard.

Kite really needed some faster music to shine, but green is especially good when it’s slow. His power is at max when he can play around in the music and change speed. They are different type of footwork masters. If the DJ knew their difference and still decided to play these slow tracks, which I don’t think it is, their DJ is probably the one to blame. Nevertheless, what a great battle!

Saying the tracks played screwed Kite out of a victory is like saying the visiting team lost because they didn't play on the court they're used to - their home court. A popper has his or her own style - fine - but they should very well know by now how to get down to virtually anything with a steady beat.

Yep! Especially for someone who's been in the game for as long as Kite has. No excuses at this point. And if someone happens to be an otherwise incredible popper but is limited to only, let's say, r & b, why are you participating in an event where the likelihood of the DJ playing something other than r & b (possibly not even playing ANY r & b) is considerably high? Just as a variety of different areas are being judged (ex. transitions, cleanliness of hits, originality, musicality), so too is the ability to adjust to the music. I really dig Kite - definitely one of my favorite dancers and definitely one of the best in the game - but the 'fault' isn't on the DJ; no, it's on Kite's ability (or inability?) to adjust accordingly to the music. His weak spot has been revealed. The burden is on him (as it is on all other poppers) to be prepared for whatever the DJ plays, not for the DJ to say "ah, Kite's up - guess I have to play the instrumental version of Michael Jackson - Heartbreaker three times in a row now..."

But shouldn't dancers be prepared for different types or tempos of music? I'm asking, because I watched Just Debout House competition 2019. They had a South African DJ and obviously he played South African genres of house. Man people were crying, calling it the biggest rubbish yet there comes Tony Rae and Caleaf and they danced to it. I'm no expert on music or beats so I don't know what they're used to, but I just found it strange that dancers would complain so much about the music. Aren't they suppossed to be able to adapt their style to the music?

It's funny how green beat 3 of the best poppers in the world, and three of my favorite poppers. Admittedly, Green is my favorite popper though. He beat them all by exposing their weakness. In the final for example, everything Hoan did was sharp, clean, he was hitting everything in every song, etc. But the problem is that they weren't really connecting with the music. It's one thing to hit every sound and beat and hit hard to everything in a song, but to actually vibe/connect, and let the music guide you is a completely other thing. When I see green dance, I feel like that is how you should dance to whatever song he is dancing too. As if he just connects to it, and lets his foundation and styles flow through it. Everything is continuous and unique. Compare that to the "ok look what I'm gonna do to this sound now, now look at this move to that sound!" That x factor is why he's the best in the world right now. Hoan is probably #2, but that is the difference between the two imo

And if you can't see the brilliance in his style right now, you don't know popping. I guarantee if you ask all the top guys in the game who is on top right now, most will say greenteck. When he also won team battle here, and last year. He wins most shows he's in too. But beyond wins and losses, he has changed the popping scene, and is still improving daily. A poppers popper. Again, why do you think he travels the world to teach this dance, is beloved in the scene, and wins most battles?

He only two losses I know of in that time frame of the past 2 year or so are c-pop which was iffy, and slim boogie which he should've won too imo. That's it. I'll wait for your rebuttal.
