Hi Megan, Thank you for watching! There is no specific spacing between the hooks. I add as many as needed to keep a stem in place and to make it stay on an angle I need it to. Stems that are not heavy need less hooks, where heavier stems need more support. This is such a fun project! Green Luck! 🌱

Beautiful! I have done similar but mine have lost all the lower leaves. From the soil up the stems are leafless for about 2feet. Do you think it's lacking nutrients? The indirect light is good.
@Mycityplants Жыл бұрын
Hi Anji, Thank you for watching 🌱 Your Pothos plant might need a bigger pot + some nutrients. Once repotted and fed, it should start growing new stems and they will fill up the bottom of the arrangement. You should also prune your plant (spring is the best time) to force it to grow more and fuller stems. Indirect light is perfect for this plant. Green Cheers!

Hi there! I wondering what I can do about a root bound pothos that is not in a container like this? They're in an 8 inch pot and I really don't want to go any larger. How can I trim the roots and use the same size pots? Awesome video, thank you!
@Mycityplants4 жыл бұрын
Hi Dakota, Thank you for watching. 🌱 Take the plant out of the pot and look at the root system. This plant does better in a tighter pot but, if you see nothing but roots, you need to either separate the plant and re-pot half of it back in your 8" pot (another half to a new pot) OR re-pot the whole plant in a deeper 8" pot (if you do not want to get a larger pot). You can prune the roots if they are sticking out from the bottom of the pot but, if there is no soil (1"-2") around the root system, the plant will not be too happy + you will end up watering the plant very often if there is not enough soil to hold the moisture. Green Luck!

You have such a calming presence. Gorgeous green wall, stellar presentation, some channels you know will be huge. Does the aerial roots penetrate into the walls and ceiling over time?
@Mycityplants4 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thank you! It is common for some roots to get attached to the wall/ceiling :) The plant in the video, for some reason, is not doing so. May be because it has enough support form the hooks... You may simple trim the roots that are sticking to the surface if you prefer them not to 🌱

The rooting protrusions from pothos need to contact moisture to start rooting. Unless your wall stays wet pothos WILL NOT damage your walls.

Hi. Really amazing video. I learned a lot. I had some questions. Would really appreciate your input (if you see this 🙈) or if someone else here could answer them. I’m a complete beginner. 1) is it safe for the walls to let the ivy grow like that? Some people suggested getting trellis. 2) I live in a rented house. When I move it is okay to trim down the plant so it’s easy enough to move in a box? Thanks.
@Mycityplants3 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thank you for watching 🌱 1. If using hooks, you do not need trellis. The hooks I am using in the video amzn.to/2VXIKix cab be easily removed when needed without damaging the wall. 2. Yes, you can carefully pack it in a box when moving. Some minor stress and leaf damage are expected but the plant will recover and bounce back once it adjusts to its new location.

@Mycityplants2 жыл бұрын
Hello Renu, Thank you for watching! 🌱 Pruning is the best and easiest way to get your Pothos plant back in shape. Prune it back - aggressively. Don't worry this plant grows very fast and you will see its stems getting long again soon + get it in fuller shape. It might also need to be repotted in a fresh soil or/and larger pot (if you have not done so in the past 2-3 years) + get some "vitamins". @Mycityplants2 жыл бұрын
