Jay, I have lost count on the number of times I have swatch this video. Each time I am always impressed on how those kids showed their talent in play and choreography, ( I heard that other bands are taught by KT on the entertaining marching, which makes me so proud of KT). I love listening to the flutes and clarinets at the back shots, they sound so beautiful in their harmonies. These bands are light years ahead in style, play and music choice. Which convinces me they are all aliens 😂.

@@Dodger0103 Mr. Yokoyama applying KT influence to the bands is really impressive and really looks like the members are really enjoying it even though its really hard❤️❤️

@@Dodger0103 Roger- I suspect that this time, the choreography came from the Izumo Business band.

Great harmony as ever, with these Japanese bands. Here, the dance steps look somewhat different to those reputedly taught by Kyoto Tachibana graduates in previous years. Instead, they include moves that could be considered the trademark of the Izumo Business school band. And whoever said that double reeds cannot be played whilst marching? Again, I suspect the ones here come from “Izusho”, who always include oboes and bassoons in their marching line-ups.

I'm not really that familiar with the History of the Izusho marching band and when did they add choreo in their marching style. I just think that its after the Rose Parade trip that Izusho started to add Choreography to their marching. by approaching Mr. Yokoyama to teach them and then approached KT about the uniform😁 Just what i think considering the fact that they have been using the Cadence of Mr. Yokoyama and also the Runaway Baby by Bruno Mars in their Parades for years now❤️

@@pauldl3155 At 12:33 we see the sideways kick that is pure Izusho, and has never been one of KT's moves. Whereas Tanaka-sensei and Yokoyama-coach together with Izusho's Director Okubo Osamu put in place the link between the two bands, my understanding is that KT graduates then taught the choreography. It was further developed by Izusho students themselves, including the kick mentioned above. As for the pink uniform, it predates this Rose Parade performance. The first video evidence we have of it is from the Chūgoku marching contest of October 2012 (and the uniform may of course have been introduced much earlier).

@@lightflight3638 Thanks for the info❤️ the kick you mentioned might actually be Inspired by Izusho which was adapted by KT and made it a bit more graceful like what the students are doing in the middle in this video of 2016 Disney Medley at 14:33 kzbin.info/www/bejne/oajHi6WKaq6oh8k Either way its still amazing that the students of every band that is arranged or picked by the GBA are able to do 60% of what KT can do in their performances in such a short amount of time considering that an Honor Band is usually composed of 4-6 different schools.

I'm really looking forward to the Nagoya Minami High School Green Band who participated in the 2014 Rose Parade. Their 110° turn was one of my favorite part which is used mainly in the All Japan Marching Competition and Other Competitions.
