BOOM - Bird Shot! Brah, check tha mic. Make a knife with bird shot and a shotgun barrel. Then carburize the edge and put swingin' zebra wood handles on it. Yah.
Triple quench? Yep, I've looked at grain size in hypereutectoid steels with sequential quenches instead of thermal cycling in my shop. It shrinks dat grain tho.
When I'm talking about quenching and etching knife steel in the video I'm primarily referring to simple carbon forging steels. The addition of alloys such as in tool steel & stainless steel changes the game in most cases.

Golden Grenadier I would love to see that for certain! That would totally blow me away that's for bloody certain. But what would be even cooler is having DemolitionRanch feature and fire it and do it like a showcase if there was a knife to go along with it yeah that would be ticket.

Awesome job GB!!! One way to make sure all air pockets are out of the canister is drill a small hole on the top of the canister and spray WD-40 in it. This was done after the canister was sealed. It's suppose to create a "flash" and release all the oxygen. My favorite intro's!!! Haha! Loved the sweet move after the heat treat. Great video as always!!

Nice work. Very interesting seeing you use a carburizing process. You can invest in a carburizing stop-off you paint on to the work where you don’t want a case depth of carbon. Let it cure before soaking in the oven. We use this technique in the gear manufacturing industry.

Lego MOC-Building hey friend it is quite possible to make a charcoal forge for less than $50. what I used for my first forge was a brake drum with the main hole covered with a plate of steel with holes drilled In it. then just run a pipe up from the bottom and attach a hair dryer to the pipe. fill the drum with lump charcoal, not briquettes and start lighting it with a blow torch and then turn on the hair dryer. this is a very effective first forge and it is even capable of melting steel! I have done it! another option would be looked up "soup can forge". this will allow you to start forging small blades! if you need an anvil I recommend walking down some train tracks and look for a small enough section to move. good luck it is such a rewarding hobby!!!
