Really awesome, love you guys. Rhizobium are aerobic as free-living bacteria and adapt to anaerobic conditions during N fixation. they do it all

a number of things if you please. 1st, the SPICE COMPOST METHOD requires a year of wait? like the Johnson-Su? maybe that is the practice of Jim Ristau but as far as i know, the method of Gillespie requires 2 months at the most. 2nd, i suggest for Jim Ristau to do a microscope study of all 3 methods to see the microbial make-up. that would be a great comparison. question is if they all pass the test for what Ingham says of her biocomplete compost. finally, there is a podcast of Will Brinton recently (don't want to post it here but tis easy to find) where he made pronouncements that will unsettle so much of what the regenerative community has come to believe as gospel truth. Will Brinton's credentials are impeccable and i say Green Cover Seed can bring him on as a guest...mygreathanks and blessings to all😇

the sight of Gillespie gives all that one needs to do and understand about the SPICE COMPOST METHOD...

So much interest in growing out your own native biology I started on my journey two years ago making my first Johnson su compost with just chicken manure aged woods chips and leaves it turned out really good my last bio reactor I made few months ago I tried to add as many different ingredients to every layer soaked wood chips&leaves chicken manure rock dusts-Basalt, Wollastonite, Volcanophos, Gypsum, & Soft Rock Phosphate insect frass kelp meal bone and wood char bokashi waste spray EM1 on all the layers fish waste chicken guts and feather fresh cut hay still green and every layer I added 2year aged johnson su compost to inoculate the pile when I mixed the layers I made sure to add more carbon then nitrogen oh and I added home made fish hydrolysate to all the layers giving the fungi plenty of food

I did my first Johnson Su a few months back. Added frass and other things similar to u. Will add fish hydrolosate and more next time. Are u able analyse finished product? David Johnson said he analysed 2 different ones and it was much the same

Thanks for an interesting video. A book I liked a lot was called "The Soul of Soil: A Soil-Building Guide for Master Gardeners and Farmers" by Joseph Smillie and Grace Gershuny

May need to apply humic acid to remediate any toxic legacies.

The next pile I’m building this spring and I’m going to go out and collet “IMO” indigenous microorganism from a healthy forest near me and spray every layer with the IMO growing out aggressive fungi in the pile creating a forest floor with all the biology then let it sit for 2 years to cure and completely break down

clorine may evaporate overnight. Does water tempertaure make a difference.

Why does he dilute the extract so much? It seems like he dilutes it more than most people do.

has any one tried to put compost through a pellet mill ?the pellets would be a lot easier to spread ! but possibly the heat and pressure of the pellet mill would injure the microbes thank you !

Good thought Monty and if you are just wanting a carbon and food source for biology then pelletized compost can and has worked - but you are right in that it kills much of the living critters with the heat and pressure. Another option would be to make the pellets and then inoculate them with liquid compost extract to pump life back into them... Would have to be careful that it did not dissolve the structural integrity of the pellet. Lots of good ideas to try!

It sounds like the "SPICE" method is an attempt at rebranding KNF or EM compost lol
