Thanks for the education! I bought several petunias to make a flower tower, and now to discover they are the bedding type! Oh well, Have to start over! My plan is spoilt! I may have to take different flowers, too, since here in the tropics, most petunias can't take sun! Only the red with the white edge can hold up!

You can’t plant bedding petunias in baskets, but can trailing petunias be planted in beds?

I know I'm a few years late, but I'm wondering how many trailing petunias per hanging basket? 12in hanging basket to be more specific.

Did you ever find out? I’m wondering this too
@tiphanese88143 жыл бұрын
@@Nugget_teejh438 i asked other Gardners on KZbin and they suggested 2-3. However, to get this cascading look i cut holes around the sides of the hanging basket and planted some in the sides too. Ill post a link to the KZbin video I used.

your videos are absolutely impressive. I have learned so much about the plants from your videos. My containers now look beautiful as a result of what I have learned from watching your videos. What size hanging baskets do you use for the large displays?
@greenerykelowna7 жыл бұрын
Hi Bendorify! The hanging baskets in the video are 12” baskets, which is our standard size for about 7 plants. However we would say the large the better for irrigation and root growth! Happy Gardening!

I have searched and searched the internet, and cannot find the answer to a question. Maybe someone watching this video can help. I bought a 2 color petunia, pink and a creamy yellow color, and as it has grown, the pink if steadily disappearing out of the flowers, leaving only the yellow. Is there some kind of fertilizer I can use to bring the pink back into the flower? I never purchased a two tone petunia before, so I have no idea how to get the pink back in.

itsnotthesamething Hello! Thanks for your question on our petunia video. We're not sure what variety you have but generally, the change of colour has to do with the temperature your petunia is growing in. In cooler seasons, colours will be more vibrant and develop better colours. In the hot summer seasons, we typically see plants not having the same colour developing as they would in the cooler season. An example is our black petunias, which will look more purple than black. As the temps drop down more, the colours should come back. Our star varieties typically will revert again like this. Hopefully this is of some help to you!

Hi, I have had the same issue. I think its called queen on hearts or something along those lines. This is because the specimen of plant that you have used is not of good quality. I bought the same plant- one from the local markets for $2.00 (a smaller less flowering plant) and one from a mainstream garden centre for $.6.99 ( fully flowered and trailing) Of course in this case you get what you pay for. My best bet would be pay a little bit more for guaranteed blooms. Hope this helps.
