Hello dear friends of Robert. It was an experiment in growing potatoes in the mountains, at first I thought that potatoes could only be grown in flat soil with high humidity, but now it is grown in the mountains. I don't think it will be harvested even though I take good care of it. But in the end it gave me very good results. But the most deplorable thing is that the chickens have dug the soil, exposed the potatoes out of the ground and they become green ha ha.

Good of you to explain and experience your "little" problem, and to update us. Much appreciated, thank you. You might have to do a small "fencing" the next time round to keep them out...

It’s amazing, 15 chicks were hatched by just one hen! Together Robert has more than 21 chicks today! 😍A few more days you will have about the same with two hens still up on the hillside! You have really good hands in raising livestock Robert! Your initial wild boar and chickens, the products from forest, were 3, and now they are more than 150 (before you sold)! I’m really impressed by your tender hands to the animals! & again green thumb in planting potatoes! Great success! 🤩💝👍🌻

Robert: When you’re feeding your pigs/piglets as if I can feel your hardships in taking those buckets into your pigsty I like to watch those piglets wriggling to eat. But when I saw you selling your pigs I don’t like to see them go(pigs) I love animals but they need to go to accomodate those little ones. I like watching your vlogs as if I’m in my country before we came to America.

Hello Robert...Your videos are coming on "Fast and Furious" (like in the movie) and is a welcome delight for all the viewers and fans. You are full of energy and even the hills are rewarding you with hens, laying eggs and hatching chicks. So was the bountiful harvest of potatoes. You could start selling them too and they don't spoil as fast as greens. Potatoes over here is quite expensive, like 5 medium size will cost me about 68,000 dong. Also they can be cooked in many ways and fills the tummy when there is no rice available. I love Mao and it was nice of you to show how he sleeps....Take care wherever you are and whatever you do...Peace....

That's awesome about potatoes they are such a essential vegetable and enhance any garden and can be stored for a long time. Beautiful chicks! So much fun. Just use the bamboo strips and make a medium high weave fence. No more exposed potatoes. They also grow really well in large wheel tire planters 🙂 Your doing amazing Robert in everything you do. ❤️

Your experiment was very successful Robert. For a first effort I think your yield was very good. Setting the chicken scratch aside for the moment, typically potatoes are grown in 'hills'. So if you had come through several times throughout the season and pulled soil on top of your potatoes (creating a hill) you would have more potatoes and many less green ones. The chickens did one good thing - they kept your potatoes free of bugs! I did not see any bug damage. A well drained hillside is better than flat land because potatoes will rot if exposed to too much water. Just keep adding organic material/compost to build up and open up your soil. 😊 I would go back and collect all of the very small potatoes that were left in the field. They will be your seed potatoes for next season. Congratulations! You don't have to peel potatoes bto cook and eat them. The skin has many nutrients and is an excellent source of fiber. You can bake a potato in the coals of your wood fire. Just wash the dirt off and set the potato in the coals until it is soft. You can also wrap in banana leaf before setting on coals. SImple nutritious food. Do not store them on the cement floor. Raise them off the floor so air can circulate so they don't get moldy. Also, they will taste better after they age for several weeks.

Wow I just love to watch Robert harvesting potatoes/bananas/yams/sweet potatoes. I really love potatoes roasted in jacket/cooked in curry. Duck braised with yam is the best and sweet potato is today's super food. Just eat it steamed, with skin on. I particularly enjoyed watching Robert harvesting bananas that had ripened on the trees. He handled them with great care. When I watch ripe bananas on trees I always get nostalgic bcs my grandpa used to plant lots of bananas (had a happy childhood growing up in the country) of many varieties. I remember there was a low tree just outside my house. I literally plucked ripe bananas like everyday and ate them off the tree! What could be fresher and sweeter than bananas right off the tree and eggs as soon as they are laid bcs the chickens clucked so much after laying an egg Lolz I would be alerted. I am rewatching this video and I also rewatched the one where you harvested bananas!!! P/s Cook potatoes with the skin on bcs the skin is the most nutritious part of the potato but wash them carefully. If you have some dried or smoked meat you could make a delicious dish with it. Wow!!!

Hi Robert Oh wow, what a lot of chicks in one hatch. Such a healthy and productive mother hen. And...You are going to have a lot more new chicks from the two hens hatching in the open - in temporary shelters rather than in the purpose-built hen houses you made specially for them. And... What an excellent harvest of potatoes. Do be very careful with the green ones - they can be poisonous! Looking forward to welcoming more new chicks and piglets.

To store the potatoes long term, you might want to dig out a root cellar. It keeps the potatoes cool and dark. You can also put squash and pumpkins and onions in there to store them . Works great to keep your produce edible for months.

Robert is very, very good in husbandry. Everything he touches, flourishes. The chickens, pigs and what he plants are all so healthy. He really has a gold thumb! Yes, I do mean gold. He is just simply amazing !
