Strange sensation 🤔, looking at Armageddon but standing in what sounds like a Teletubby mystical fantasy land 🤘

never seen a detonation with a beautiful soundtrack like that before

the music is worth watching this video all by itself. It sounds like something Loreena McKennitt or Enya would compose.

Music on this one sounds like mixing Avatar and Blade Runner movie tracks intertwining each other !

This was the physics package used as the primary for Ivy Mike. With a yield of 47kt on its own, it jumpstarted the 10.7MT secondary reaction.

Crazy to thing that this shot’s 92pt implosion design yielding 47kt and enough to flatten a small city was later used to simply ‘ignite’ a dewar of cryogenic Deuterium in Ivy Mike😮
@oceanhome20239 ай бұрын
92 pts implosion! Amazing progress ! the engineering just on the implosion lowering the amount of precious fissile material needed was most important , the new thermonuclear bombs used just as much fissile material that was needed to trigger the Fusion Reaction . These first bombs got their explosive energy from both Fusion and Fission most of the smallest nukes are completely fission from what I understand

a beautiful set of detonations... it's a bit funny how little the calibration lines actually move relative to the mushroom cloud.

ironically, they actually reveal that these "nuclear" blast are not as large as we are made to believe. also Ironically, nolan actually revealed how easy it is to fake a nuclear blast with camera and perspective tricks.

Never seen these of Easy. Very high quality work done here. Folks, there's four structural-tests I'm aware of...Annie, Grable, Apple II and Easy. You can find some Easy clips on here showing shit-getting-blown-up, but it's nowhere near the quality shown in these clips.
@rags4179 ай бұрын
They must be from different test series, the Greenhouse series only had shots Dog, Easy , George, and Item. Greenhouse Easy did include a structural test series, AFAIK most of the other structural tests were carried out at Nevada Proving Ground, eg Tumbler-Snapper, Upshot-Knothole
@RichardNixonsHippieRemoval9 ай бұрын
@rags417 True. Easy - Greenhouse Annie - Upshot Grable - Upshot Apple II - Teapot Might have been some with Encore-Upshot also, but that was traincars, bridges and jeeps.

Very sad to say that we are in a bigger threat of nuclear war more than ever, unstable countries form a threat to humanity. Imagine that thing happening in a major city. Scary
@TheVanillatech7 ай бұрын
"Unstable Countries" :D America the ONLY country to ever drop nuclear bombs on people, CIVILIANS, mostly women and children. Americas bodycount abroad puts every other country to shame. A country born of native genocide, built on the blood and bones of slaves, and now a murderous failing empire plundering the globe. But I assume you mean .... unstable countries like Pakistan, who have bombed and invaded NOBODY. Or North Korea? Or China? Right......? We will forever be living under the threat of sudden and total annihilation. That's the price every single human being, every single living thing will have to pay until either the sun stops burning or some other cosmic event wipes us all out. That's just the way it is, when a handful of freakish geniuses agree to put their brains together to create an instrument of our own destruction and hand it over to absolute monkeys and psychopaths in government / military establishments.

Nice video ATC, thanks for posting! Still wish I knew the name of the sound track, lol. Does anyone know if this was a night shot or was the camera heavily filtered against the initial flash?
@prsearls9 ай бұрын
According to my information, it was fired at 6:26 AM local time on a 300 foot tower and yielded 47 kilotons. This test design was used as the primary for Ivy Mike (first thermonuclear test detonation).

no, its too clean, efficient and it would make electricity too cheap. The anti nuclear propaganda has already won.

It's nu-clear (nuclear - only two syllables), not nucular (three syllables).
