Also, install an inline backwater valve for your well pump, keep your "grey water" pond water or rainwater from contaminating your well water 😇

Maybe put a check valve on the well /house line so somebody doesn't accidentally send rainwater back during maintenance of the house water or someone opens house valves all the way that it allows that low-pressure to enter your drinking water? Also once in awhile there will be places where you can eliminate an elbow and just have a curved black piping. It's surprising how much more water flows in a low-pressure situation when you eliminate an elbow or two. If you need it that is.

It takes me an hour and a half to water with 150 ft hose but I have very few other projects. It gives me time to look at the plants and see if there's infestations or harvesting opportunities. But since there isn't any rain scheduled for the next 10 days I'm afraid watering is going to be the new normal... Good luck with this El nino summer wildfire season.

Man, that's a well thought out system. Good job explaining your setup. I'm working on my electroculture antennas. The copper wire for tomato runners is brilliant. I'm going to try that. What a great resource to have with Southern Irrigation. The song at the end gave me a good laugh. Perfect. Take care Dean.
@ArkopiaYouTube Жыл бұрын
If electroculture works , might as well get some small gauge copper instead of twine for the tomato climbers. And wire everything together makes a lot of sense. ✌️

@@ArkopiaKZbin Iknow, because once people wake up to the holoclaustl from the hyldrolgeIl needles, the people running the operation will end food production and those of us that are actually in the loop of what is going on will grow. As that number grows, so too will peoples' need to pursue personal food production.

The video is great! Ending is epic!!. The system is awesome!!!. I have a concern, though. Old timers once told me to keep a yucca from growing back, drive some copper wire into the root. It supposedly will degrade over time and produce copper sulfate, killing the roots. I've done this, and it worked every time. I also know that nothing grows near my copper ground rods. I am not a scientist and have no idea if the soil or climate plays in, but it might be something to look into. Great job, as always.
@ArkopiaYouTube Жыл бұрын
Thanks. Never heard that about copper. Copper is an essential nutrient for plants, and never heard anyone say a rod would be bad. I have heard other metals might not be good for plants. People even switch to copper gardening tools for the health of their plants 🤷🏻♂️. I’m no scientist either ✌️

Thanks again Dean for another great video. Proper/ complete planning will save time and money. Adding passage pipes with the right size at the time of concrete laying would help a lot for any future additions. If your system was aquaponic, your could have done this with much less effort, less cost , no fertilizers and higher plant/ meat/ fish yield. Good luck 👍

My big fish tank system and a little hydroponics is on a long list of projects for the back side of the greenhouse. I prefer growing in really good soil for most things though. ✌️

I would not install one of those frost free taps. They were installed in my house and the first winter they froze and broke. My super intelligent plumber buddy came in and plumbed my house the old fashioned way. He set up my outside taps with a shutoff valve then after the shut off valve added a three way splitter and one line came from the main line with the shut off valve, the second line went to my outside taps and the third line went down to a second valve. Once it gets cold out i shut off the main water supply to the outside taps... Then i open that lower valve which drains the water out of the outside taps into my basement floor drain by the furnace. I can then open the outside taps and if the hoses are removed the water drains out of the outside taps protecting them from freeze in the winter. In spring i just close the drain valve and open the main supply line. Its a simple system and works perfect. Since he added the shut off and drain valves ive never frozen my plain outside taps again. But this is the same system my parents house had when I was a kid and i remember my parents draining the water lines in fall when i was a kid.

Careful with those grow lights from amazon with the aluminum shrouds, those are not waterproof. I took one apart for a hydronics tower I build and its pretty wide open. You could probably silicon both ends and it would be tight enough.

wifi cool, quick... but when you own the property and data-rate/dependability are important...you are better to deploy fiber (no complicated permitting required), It's surprisingly cheap, especially in environments where line of site is difficult (think 80+' trees).
