When I saw the title, I got scared you were going to say to stay away from Sh Tahir. Alhumdulillah, seeing Sh Tahir and Mufti Muneer on your show last was positive. After being in the scene for a few decades, you figure out how to sift "refutation da'wah" from the real path of Ahl al-sunna. When the attackers gear up, I tune out, Shaykh.

Barakuallahu Feek for a balanced answer. Shaykh Tahir made an interesting comment in the recent video you did with him and Shaykh Mohammad Muneer. He said video lectures are not entertainment. It is for seeking knowledge (paraphrasing), I don't know how many people picked up on that but for me it was a poignant and insightful comment. Do we want to watch Islamic content like its the WWE Friday Night Smackdown? Or, do we want listen, intently, and learn, have our views strengthened or changed and go away having benefited? I've learned or rather, I fear speaking about the scholars and students of knowledge, unless, something has been clear. And I mean by speaking, is not in posting a video. I'm a common Muslim and unknown. But, I mean in casual conversation, saying things that are destructive to me and maybe to others. May Allah guide us and our scholars and students of knowledge and protect us from the fitnan defining our times in particular with 'un'social media.

Shaykh, May Allah preserve you for your balanced approach. I have a question regarding some of the papers on Yaqeen's site. I have not read most of them as they are a bit long for my taste, but they have a series on Allah's names and attributes by Sh Mohamed Elshenawy. I don't know much about him although I have benefited from what I have read. Hearing the concerns, can you please review these papers and tell us your opinion on if there are no innovations there? (As-samad is the one I read and liked). May Allah raise your rank.

To be honest, the matter is still not clear. In shaa Allah, please do research Yaqeen Institute, then clarify the issue afterwards. I personally have paused taking knowledge from Dr Tahir Waytt. This is my personal deccision to safeguard my Deen In shaa Allah. I won't warn against him, but I no longer take knowledge from him until the matter of Yaqeen Inst is clear. His interview with John Fontain did not clarify anything at all.

As Salaam Aleikum Warahmatulahi Wabarakatuh. The usual attack on the spubs brothers. Many make statements like they have control of scholars. Sheikh Rabee and Sheikh Ubayd are scholars. The doors are open to all the brothers whom claim to be upon salafiyah. I've yet to hear much from the so called Salafis acknowledge or even discuss the recent fitnah which was huge for the Salafis. The fitnah was clear that it's not about personalities. It's about the Deen. Sheikh Mohammed Ibn Hadi was refuted. He's the same tribe a sheikh Rabee, he's long established as one of the major scholars and was a good friend to the major scholars. He was refuted by Sheikh Rabee. The other Scholars Kirk sheikh Ubayd, Sheikh Fawzan etc had the matter clarified. Those whom Muhammed Hadi previously refuted all over sudden became his friends. Spubs always refer to the scholars. When you talk of mistakes, you make mistakes and we all make them. The question is about the magnitude of those mistakes. Now you defend Tahir Wyatt and Mufti Muneer. Akhi if it was about sincerity, the the aspect of people being from your community shouldn't come into it. This is hizbiya. Tahir Wyatt sits on the board of Yaqeen Institute. Omar Suleiman moves with Yasir Qadhi and sits in the board of Al Magharibi Institute. You refuted Yasir Qadhi and called him an innovator. This is a contradiction because Tahir Wyatt supports Omar Suleiman who is a good friend of Yasir Qadhi. How is this from salayoon? You're all very very knowledgeable but there's a whole lot of contradiction. Mufti Muneer sat and ate with Mufti Menk, who sold out to get into Denmark. Who studied like you in Madina and did further studies in a deobandi school. This is all very confusing. How can mufti Muneer also support protesting which is haram in Islam. How come you don't ask these difficult questions Akhi? Sheikh Rabee refuted his countryman, colleague and tribesman to defend a student of knowledge. Effectively a nobody. The truth was more important to him and the other scholars of salafiya. That is true salafiya. He could have done what is often done on these channels which is to swipe it under the carpet. May Allah guide is all. You're blessed with the access to knowledge and scholars. Make it about that. Tahir Wyatt sat with nation of Islam. Look at Siraj Wahaj. He refuted them and then went back and sits with them a d raises money for them. If Tahir Wyatt truly stood for salafiya he wouldn't be on the board of Yaqeen Institute, he wouldn't entertain those who say Allah is a man etc etc.

Naseeha to Salafi brothers and sisters.... Study the Seerah / history /lives of the prophet and the Sahaabah and tabi3een... Understand how they learned, and taught Islam. That's what TRUE SALAFISM is about... You will find that the prophet and the Salaf did not understand or teach the religion as these so called modern day salafis understand it. I challenge anyone who claims to be a Salafi to delve into the seerah books and read about the lives of the sahabah and then confidently say that it reflects the actions and understandings of these modern day groups. Fear Allah and stop misleading the people... It's a kind of lying when you promote something that that Sahabah and the prophet was not on. Their concerns were not like yours... Their focus and their aspirations and their goals were not like yours.... They did not teach Islam according to this philosophical, academic, and theoretical way of breaking down basic tenants of faith, like Tawheed. I ask you to be Salafi... But the right kind of Salafi... Not this new age neo-salafi , Saudi inspired, wahabi - inspired garbage. End the hypocrisy and go back to the Seerah books to understand how these GREAT men really lived their lives, and how they understood, taught, and implemented the Deen.

I leave that judgement for the scholars, because when you look at them as du'aat you will find much of there foundation is in accordance with Ahl Sunnah; however, you find their excesses and practice of some principles and even distortions of some principles and application aligned with Hizbi groups and principles. Therefore, it requires scholarly analysis to determine and in fact apply a ruling in that regard. Some of our scholars have done that. As for my view, since you asked, I believe it does not have great importance to determine or make a ruling on them. It is sufficient to see the issues they have and the harms that have resulted from aspects of their da'wa to avoid their harms as there are so many knowledgeable Salafis that are propagating the da'wa of Ahl Sunnah. I also do not believe in assisting their enemies and uniting with anyone just because they oppose their mistakes (and perhaps call to a greater bid'a and fitnah like Qutbiyyah, Surroriyah, Takfeeeris, and other misguided groups). I learned this from our scholars: to refrain from jumping into every fitnah and having to speak about every controversy or because the people want your position or to align with such an such group. May Allah guide us and the Muslims and mankind in general.

This is a great fitna in the west , why can’t a scholar clarify the situation to us as many people are confused. With laypeople and me being one of them it has been a great burden on my mind of who to take from in the west who are truly upon the Quran and sunnah. One day I hear / read SPUBS are nothing but good , the next day I hear they are a hizb , one day I hear mufti muneer is associating with ahlu bidah . There are so many doubts out there with little clarification

Walaikum salaam. Did you read that? Promoting and condoning those things is a serious issue. If you have read and understood that then you can make that claim, but otherwise I would exercises caution with my accusations in order to not gain Allah's wrath. If someone claims those behaviours are permissible then that is clearly a type of disbeleif and promoting it as well only increases the transgression. I find it difficult to believe that a practicing Muslim could ever without any doubt (shubuhat) claim such a thing. May Allah protect us from transgression and sin.

@@KhalidGreen I would suggest not to take from others mouths in relation to what another said. Jonathan Brown made that remark after 3 hour lecture, and when he was informed he said that about the Prophet, he asked for it to be take for immediately and made retracted from that statement on his social media. What he meant was for others to express their concerns with the Prophet so it could be refuted with the truth. The issue of supporting gay marriage is incorrect political stance, with the Qiyas of it being needed under 'duress'. Again best to listen to it yourself if it really concerns you, rather than dishonest remarks by haters. I feek Dr Tahir has a lot of haters, using his association to Yaqeen to hate on him.
