It's pretty common amongst diecast and toy manufacturers, as they do need to "pay off" the diecast molds.

I agree with the "pointless" plastic. Quotations on pointless because you're absolutely correct. The models often come with paint issues, freakin finger prints, and broken pieces. So it is pointless. Even if they came perfect, the plastic really is too much to begin with either way.

They have packing peanuts now that are made out of starch that dissolve into nothing when you get them wet. Makes me wonder if that technology can be used to make a clear plastic for these packages. Then print on 100% recycled cardboard. Problems solved. @@wtffor

O-Dawg, how do you keep the dust off the junkyard diorama? How do you deal with the dust?

I don't have a lot of dust in my home, as it is just me and Nina, and I do vacuum a l lot. Also, the basement Museum is not used regularly as part of me home, and so there is not much traffic down there and no open windows ever.

Those towtrucks are fantastic! I want to get them all! Too bad the QC problems have cropped up again. I wonder if it's a specific factory or a specific workforce somewhere in Asia or Africa or wherever they make these that just doesn't care. Funny how Lesney Matchbox could make fully rigged working towtrucks with string in the 1960s and sell them for less than $1 but Greenlight cant do that in 2022.

Purchased the 72 Chevy C-30 Wrecker and had to repair the towing rig. Typical GL quality control problems strike again! Maybe you could remove the hood on your blue tow truck and go with an exposed engine bay?

It looks like I saw a brownish looking car with a 1/4 white top in your junkyard that appears to be a GM replica, maybe a Regal or Monte Carlo, I really don't know. But what was it and did you get it from Greenlight or another die cast manufacturer? How can I obtain one, not necessarily the same color unless that's the only color for it? Thank you.

Just as the camera is approaching the box, we see the car in question and a blue station wagon with it's good up, which could be a Chevy Nomad. I don't know how to get the timestamp, but it's less than 1 minute into the video as the camera pans toward the unopened case of your Tow Trucks. I'm not computer savvy, so I apologize for not having the understanding of how to obtain the timestamp.

I don't know for sure what manufacturer it is, but it was somewhere between the 0:11 second mark to the first minute of the video to the right side of the screen.
