I don't understand why the little reviews don't say anything about : motor, airconditionning, batteries, prices of the actual boat etc etc?

All of that information is available in the magazine report, see the February 2014 issue.

@@MotorBoatYachting Why do a video review when everything is in the magazine?
@gregrobbins94939 жыл бұрын
This is supposed to be a review on a HYBRID boat. We know the the boats decor and living option would be up to date and high standard. Where is the review on the HYBRID components? This like doing a review on a 4 X 4 truck and never turning on the engine or speaking about it.

I have to say, if I win the lottery, I would be stuck for choice; I mean eco trawler Cranchi, Jenneau, swift, or a Sabre, Hunt, Van der Valk or a Van Der Heijden! Decision decisions!!

A great profile of the Greenline 48 but nothing about it's Hybrid system.

+BellinghamsterTrail Well, "hybrid" yachts aren't what many people are expecting. They are more or less just efficient diesel electric propulsion. They may motor out of the marina or around a harbor on electric power only but they don't really make any mileage on battery power only. They are basically diesel engines producing power for the electric motors. That is more efficient than standard diesel power but not by much. The efficiency of these boats comes mainly from an efficient hull design & low, displacement speeds. I think they don't mention the "hybrid" system because it's not anything close to what many people are expecting. Don't get me wrong, I am not knocking that type of system, it does have advantages. There is no transmission. That reduces maintenance, there is less parasitic power loss because the power goes directly to an electric drive motor. Also, the diesel engine can operate at its optimal RPM which increases efficiency. It is an improvement over direct drive diesel but it isn't drastic, especially on smaller boats like this & it isn't what many people are expecting when they hear "hybrid"

That is a great explanation of the system. I appreciate it. The next really big step would be to take the same boat and electric drive system but use a water fuel cell generator to power it. Or even a zero point energy fuel cell--wow you could go anywhere and stay for as long as you want,which is why they will never make it I guess :O)

@@Bellinghamster No the step right before that is nuclear driven! Then zero point energy next century.

Very amateur review. All he does is show what it looks like. He knows nothing about boats. Any builder can make a boat look pretty. What about the boat structure and mechanical's . No information tells me that its not worth talking about. Because if you cant say anything good, dont say nothing at all.
