We all get scrapes and bruises. We all have scars. And each of these little marks make us more human in some small way. They are a reminder of what our body has seen and what our body has endured.
Aniek is an incredible woman who, after a traumatic incident in her childhood that left her severely scarred, has found a way to embrace her body and the skin that she is in. This is a story about vulnerability, resilience, courage and beauty.

This woman's beauty is what struck me when we first saw her face. I watched this video with a smile on my face during its entirety. Yes, I see her scars.... however what captured my attention were her beautiful eyes, her lovely voice, her sweet giggles....and the lesson she taught me on how to truly let go of things and not keep myself attached to them. When I do this, it does me much harm....and no good...at all. I hope this wonderful woman has opportunities to speak ro people. I once weighed 438 lbs. When I lost most of the excess weight it left my skin stretched and ravaged. When I'm naked I think my body looks like a melted candle. It has caused extreme trauma for my self image. When I am naked in front of a mirror I find it quite depressing. Not as much now that I am older, but the feelings still come to me. In my youth I was a fashion model, so appearance has always been intrinsic to my self identity. Intimacy with another has been bittersweet. What should be a pleasurable and fulfilling experience becomes wrought with fear and self loathing, especially if it is a first time encounter. It has profoundly affected my sex life and beyond. The more I watched and listened to this young woman, the more I realized just how lovely she is. I wish I could find that kind of self acceptance and gratitude for me. With the right clothing I can mask my deformities from the rest of the world. She does not have that luxury. I'm feeling quite small in comparison.

This is what makes life appear so frightening and why your outer consciousness is blindly groping its way back to its connection with the total self. Your outer consciousness will eventually gain awareness of this connection, because THE CONNECTION WAS REALLY NEVER BROKEN. It only seemed broken from the vantage point of the limited outer consciousness. THE TASK OF EVERY FRAGMENTED, APPARENTLY DISCONNECTED ASPECT OF CONSCIOUSNESS IS TO REALIZE ITS TRUE IDENTITY AND CONNECTION WITH THE REAL SELF. This happens through an often laborious groping search, through attempts of the mind to EXPAND ITS OWN NARROW LIMITATIONS. The mind holds this potential for expansion; even in its disconnected state it contains every aspect of divine reality. Using this potential depends only on which way the mind turns, which way the will directs it, which thought the mind CHOOSES in any given instant. THIS IS AN IMPORTANT KEY. A total entity-a COMPLETE ENTITY-is one that is COMPLETELY AWARE OF ITS DIVINE NATURE, that is in total possession of DIVINE WISDOM and ENERGY.
