After my pigeons ate all the grass in the grated sections it is time to try find some type of greens that they might like this time we are going to try silver beet to see if my racing pigeons will eat it.
i am hoping to bring it into their routine if we can find something that they really like!

No need to chop it up, they'll tear it apart themselves :)

My pigeons love dandelion leave. The weeds grow everywhere and it's free.

I roll up spinach leaves and stick it thru the front of the loft and peg the end to the wire, they love pulling and ripping at it, they will eat as much as you put there mate 👍

Kurt, I have given greens to my pigeons for many years. Both racers and rollers love full leaf spinach, romaine lettuce and silver beet, washed and sprinkled with salt. To feed I use an old fashioned rat trap fixed to the loft wall about 8" off the floor. Take off the hold-down bar and bait platform and use the spring-loaded hammer bar to hold the green leaves for the pigeons to pick. Works great.

Hi there, make sure your pigeons are genuinely hungry and place a bunch of silverbeet tied to the wire with string and they will devour it, so good for them. They may take a while to get the gist but as long as they know, no seed until you eat your greens they will oblige, cheers, and take care

Hi. I give my pigeons silverbeet hole in a half bunch with a elastic band tied around the stems and place it on the floor and they get stuck into it. Hope this comment helps. Steve.

Kale, broccoli, broccoli, lettuce, pretty much any green veggies. Toss it in and leave it for them to pick at it.

Yeah brother like a lot of the other guys recommend! Whole silverbeet full stem with the leaf! They will demolish it only leaving a withered stem. I give as a treat once a week or fortnight. Only way to go trial n error. 🤔

Another great one for them is water cress. Only give greens once a week because too much gives them the squits.

My pigeons won't each chopped lettuce but will devour a whole head of lettuce. Perhaps they need something large enough that they can peck and pull at in order to get just a bite small enough to swallow, since they cannot chew.
