I've always said that about the West Village having been to London over 14 times. The streets below 14th street, which encompasses this part was before the GRID was done. The GRID starts at 14th street which the avenues go north and south and the avenues go east to west. It's the best place in the city to just walk around..

I enjoy watching these walks but wonder if you can give us a little more info on locations and places etc. Trying to catch a glimpse of street names etc is quite difficult at times and when you live thousands of kms away and have never been to NY makes it confusing. A small typed identifier at the bottom would be really, really helpful.
