Greenworks 60V 25" Mower Unboxing + Review

Edit 2: Still going 3 years later in 2024. I upgraded to the 8 A-h battery in 2023 and it makes a huge difference in power. Never bogs down and the 8 A-h is enough to do a huge yard. Remember to sharpen the blade every year or after hitting rocks! Edit: The issue of the mower stalling was due to a weak battery. I started to keep track of which side each battery was on and noticed for one battery it would consistently stall, and when it would switch over to the other(good) battery it would power through everything without stalling. It also had noticeably higher blade RPMs (louder) and faster self propel speed with the good battery. The charger would blink red for the bad battery only sometimes and would turn green when I reseated it so I assumed it was just loose in the charger. Note there was not an obvious difference in run time, only power output. To me this might mean a few of the cells had bad connections and under load the voltage would drop too low for the mower. I contacted Greenworks about the issue and with the video showing the stalling, they were able to send a replacement battery under warranty. So can confirm they do stand behind their products and warranty.

I own this machine and it works flawlessly. I think you hammered her by cutting such high thick grass at a low cut setting. I agree with the flimsy feeling paddles but I am very pleased with not dealing with gas, oil, air filters, spark plugs and winterizing my gas mower. Great personal review.

Appreciate the video, and your engagement in the comments. Answered all of my questions/concerns, most notably, the customer service and the leaf mulching capability. Surprised that you got yours from HD, as it's Lowes that carries that brand where I live. This and a few other videos have convinced that this mower will work for me. First of all good review I've Watched alot of videos on this mower because I plan on buying one. I appreciate the realistic situation that you showed, even though 2in is way too short to be cutting a lawn I'm glad you did it that way to show what it will do in high grass. I'm very disappointed in the shipping damage that you received even though it seems only cosmetic could have been worse and shows it needs to be packed better. I've heard that dealer response or manufacturer response is bad but you've proven that wrong by getting a new battery. I am retired and only need to mow for less than 30 minutes so I'm considering this Mower/with string trimmer and your review has helped me, just give me your opinion now months later on what you think and I agree all the handles and controls seem cheap but never heard of anyone breaking any of them. Good job for being real and doing a better job than all the loudmouth KZbin idiots that do it for a living...thxz

@@jordaynerjr I did not end up buying this mower because they didn't have any in stock anywhere ,the company would not respond to me about it ...ended up buying a Honda gas powered mower ($400) cuz my grass needed mowed and I'm very happy with it .disappointed in the company for not responding even 6 months later.. that should tell u something about why not to buy it

The mower and trimmer were great this first season. No issues. Not in the video but the bagger works great too, and mower mulches leaves well.

Well on Greenworks.com it's at $750, BUT they seem to have a 25% off every holiday and Labor Day is coming up which would be even cheaper, plus in my state at least I didn't have to pay sales tax on the other things I've bought from them. For me it was worth the $650 plus sales tax for the maintenance-free, reliability, lightweight, foldability of it. It last long enough to cut a thick 0.3 acre yard and still have charge left, so more than 60 minutes.

The only thing that really worries me about some of the electric mowers is the sometimes the companies do not offer any spare parts for sale. I know you said they replaced the battery which is a separate issue, but if one of those flimsy flipper handles brake, a blade motor goes bad, or an electronic issue occurs, you may be out of luck finding replacement parts. The would kind of make it a disposable mower. Love the video though... Thanks!
