I have a 1yo Greenworks Crossover T, works great, no issues on mowing 2+ acres of lawn. Use it as an all around ATV/go cart without the mow deck running goes faster. It allows me to release my inner 13 year old. The front hitch is great for moving trailers around, I put a pick up truck step on it as a bumper. I don't care for the USB outlet, nearly useless. A 12V would have been useful. I may still add it somehow to run a light duty winch. My bigest gripe with Greenworks is lack of a parts lists and diagrams. The "ETO" might be usefull for adding "stuff". Michigan here, and would be useful if the price is right.

It would be handy when the price comes down to around 2-4k

I like it! Are the batteries removable swappable packs? Would like to see more about something like this.

The battery in this particular model is a very large, very heavy single unit battery, not meant to be interchanged with other tools. This single battery has a 5 year/2,000 hour warranty.

For something that’s not gonna require any additional maintenance, outside battery charging and tires, if you held on to this for a good period it would be a good value. Just really depends on the use and how well the 82v battery maintains over charges. If it’s just a LI battery it’s not going to retain that top charge for a significant period of time if this is a hard daily use item. LiPo then sure but it’s gonna be heavy

Agreed on all parts. I thought I had read once that it did have some LiPo technology, but now I can't find that article. I did find this pertaining to the handheld batteries for sure...www.greenworkstools.com/pages/intelligent-power

So digging around in the specs, in one place is says lithium ion... in another it says LFP. If it's LFP, and is using Grade A Cells, it's probably OK... still a premium price. But if it has quality LFP's with a good BMS the battery pack should last a very long time. The rest of the cart may in fact rot down around the batteries. :) I'm interested in this thing, and wondering if anyone has one by this point?

Does it have regenerative braking? I can't seem to find a manual online. Gearbox? Do you have to ride the brakes when going downhill?
@snappys-outdoorequipmentsa8568
@snappys-outdoorequipmentsa8568 Жыл бұрын
I believe the answer to all those would be "no". Electric motors, much like hydrostatic, motors have an inherent amount of resistance when stagnant. i.e.. on a zero turn you don't need to apply brakes or put it in reverse in order to stop the machines momentum. The same rules apply to these electric motors. Obviously if you want to stop/slow down more quickly, the brakes would need to be applied.

Looks like your review is almost the first one published in the KZbin. You mentioned 2 batteries, correct? Are both required or a vehicle can run on 1 only? What type is it - like "82BD800 82 VOLT 8AH (21700)"?

This particular unit as well as the new OptimusZ lineup do not use the smaller handheld battery packs you may be used to working with. This particular model has one large 8kW battery sourced from multiple battery cells.

@@snappys-outdoorequipmentsa8568 thanks, so what type of the battery is it? Is my understanding correct that the battery from other 82V tools like Snow thrower GD82ST56 would not work?
@snappys-outdoorequipmentsa8568
@snappys-outdoorequipmentsa8568 Жыл бұрын
@@linearsilly It is a very large 8kW battery built into the frame of the machine. The entire unit plugs into a transformer, then into an outlet. Correct, batteries from other 82V Greenworks products will not power this machine.

@@snappys-outdoorequipmentsa8568 Thanks, got it. Sad news that it's not compatible. I hope at least it's replaceable? I bet price for the battery unit would be high. Interesting, would GW make it available on non-USA market (Europe/Russia).

@@snappys-outdoorequipmentsa8568 I have been trying to find a video on this since CES at least once a week. I am even on the Email list for this but you got it months ago.... :S Supper happy I found this video an OP asked about the battery, Bc I was about to buy into Greenworks now I may not... Are all the UTV models like this like, Are they stepping away from the small form factor batteries on all "mobility" products? At CES I was told that "Everything" from the new electric bikes riding mowers to the mini bike and UTV would take the small factor 80-82Volt batteries. Sorry this is just a bummer

Greenworks has a few other models with different color options...this particular model is in the color shown only. As far as the height, I'm 5'11" and I don't recall feeling cramped. This unit will be back at our dealership May 31, so I will have to re-evaluate that and get back to you.

Until Greenworks starts shipping parts for my 25" mower so I can fix it, I won't be buying anymore of their products. All I need is nylon gears and they don't respond, and their service outlet in my area says the parts are not available. I have a lawnmower that isn't worth anything when the parts could be easily replaced.

I believe the idea behind any battery product on the market is a simple formula for cost being... lack of maintenance, times longevity, equals overall value. ie...How much would an equally capable gasser cost you after a 5 year ownership period...

There is a protection mechanism when these batteries overheat to prevent a fire. And gas engines can leak fuel and cause a fire. I have a GW push mower and I'll never go back to gas, no more oil changes, messing with a carburetor, filling up gas canisters, etc.
