Great job on the video. Good looking mower too. I got the Ego 42" a few weeks ago and it's been phenomenal. I have several of their tools so going Ego was a no brainier. For those wondering which to buy, just get what best fits your needs, and if you're already on a battery platform might as well stay with it. I do like green works battery placement over the Ego's, but I absolutely love the fact that I don't have to remove my batteries to charge them with the Ego. I'm by no means a fan boy. I have 12v Milwaukee tools as well as 20v DeWalt tools. I know they have nothing to do with this comparison, but again if you're already vested in a platform, why not stick with it? My DeWalt tools get the job done just the same as my Milwaukee tools do. I'd have bought the green works had I not already been on a platform. Yes ego has more tech built in and more adjustable mower speed and blade speed selection. But at the end of the day, we just need our grass cut. Edit: clearly I'm referring to the zero turn models. But you get the gist of it.

Mine is a year old, works great, no issues on 2+ acres of lawn. Use it as an all around ATV/go cart without the mow deck running goes faster. It allows me to release my inner 13 year old. The front hitch is great for moving trailers around, I put a pick up truck step on it as a bumper. I don't care for the USB outlet, nearly useless. A 12V would have been useful. I may still add it somehow to run a light duty winch. My bigest gripe is lack of a parts list and diagram.

Yeah it's so fast w/out the blades running lol. I use it all the time with a dump cart, pull behind aerator, and pulling my kids on their sled in winter

It just dawned on me today seeing a TV commercial today. Makes sense to go less complicated.

Been looking at the Ego and Greenworks. Not sure about the Greenworks flip switch for going forward/reverse and how long this design will hold up. Batteries seem to be expensive when it comes time for replacing. Plus the cost to dispose of the old batteries. But the electric concept seems to be simple and easy. Still undecided whether to make the move over to electric from gas engine.

How’s the mower holding up, batteries? I can’t makeup my mind between Greenworks, ego, and ryobi.

Same! I am torn between this one and the Ego E-steer 42in. Greenworks just seems so much more innovative and have a crazy product line. Buuuuut I keep hearing Ego is top of the line so idk.

So far it's holding up well, and I've been happy with the battery size. Generally these batteries do lose capacity over time, but I'm trying to keep them as healthy as possible. I can't speak to other brands I haven't used, but I'd imagine they are comparable products.

I just ordered the 80v version. It wasn't a hard choice considering that I have almost every other 80V tool they make, and they are awesome. I looked at others and I wasn't really interested in the Ego because it's pretty obvious they spend a lot on advertising and merchandising which ultimately gets rolled into the retail cost of their machines. I call it the Bose business model. The Ryobi has a lot of negative press, much of which is probably not deserved but there is a pattern of complaints that turned me off of them.

I've heard to not get Ryobi. They use lead-acid batteries which stop working over time. I watched a ton of vids and read reviews and everyone is saying it is absolutely terrible. From what I've read, Greenworks seems to be the best. I only have a weed eater by them and I love it. It's solid. I'm likely going to get this mower.

How does it handle slight inclines or slopes?
@ilawn
@ilawn 2 ай бұрын
I have a slight incline in one part of my yard and it's fine. The motors can tow a loaded tow cart no problem, so any reasonable hill shouldn't be a big deal

So you have to reeeally push the FOOT brake in and then push the LEVER parking brake down
@ilawn
@ilawn 4 ай бұрын
To release the brake, you push again really hard on the foot brake. One other odd thing, the tractor will not go forward unless you tap the foot brake once, until then it will display a "15" notification on the little screen

Ive had decent experience on my other tools. If it's in warranty, any covered part needed is sent for free. There is a shop within an hour of me that does warranty work which helped me get a chainsaw replaced. I'm not sure what I'd do if a big item fails tho, like the ride on or the dual stage snow blower

I bought mine a local farm equipment dealer. Among other things, they delivered it fully assembled, batteries all charged, ready to go. If I experience any issues, I'll go to the dealer.

How do you think it would do with thicker/taller/pasture grass?
@garydzidowski1134
@garydzidowski1134 Жыл бұрын
Keep the deck as high as it will go, to avoid rocks and ant hills. It does fine, but for me usually takes two runs to get it really clear. Get a cheap step bumper for the front.

Agree with Gary. It's probably not as powerful as a large gas mower, but as long as you're not cutting too much height in one pass, it should be fine. Might use battery faster
