Excellent video. I am going to stick with the plan to "learn to drive " with the epson 8550. It seems it can do almost everything except 17".

I've used a pizza cutter and a ruler to crease cards.

Yes - a proper creaser is perhaps a bit more than you want for casual use, but you need care with coated papers.

Having used Canon printers (imagePROGRAF iPF5100 and imagePROGRAF Pro-2000) since 2008. I have found using the "Standard" Print Quality is quite adequate for printing cards and is SO much faster.

I'm using the Epson P900 and downloaded the 7x10 template because that is what Red River sells. However, your template is only one sided. It would be nice to have the other side that we could put lettering on.

Use the same one... they are only really meant for ideas and inspiration... they are generic Photoshop documents. You just have to remeber to put the second sheet in the right way [test with plain paper!]

Which A3 printer allows you to stack your card, (not having to feed 1 sheet at a time) know you did this on a previous video, but I can not find it

Another option would be to print five 5x7 cards at a time using 17x22 paper, then cut to size and score/fold. The paper is cheaper than pre-folded cards. If you get a heat press to flatten cards - cut and use 17-inch rolls and save more money.

Yes - pre-cut cards are not ideal if you are running on thin margins or at any volume. I get asked about cards quite a lot, and few people can give me anything near a solid outline of how the business would actually make a profit...

Very informative, I would like to see a video about illustrations printing, I don't think you got anything like that in the channel

Thanks - What do you specifically mean by 'illustrations printing' - to me it's no different from printing any image? Remember, my day job is as a photographer! ;-)

@KeithCooper I know Keith san, I mean printing drawings, I loved your videos on how to print on canvas but I still would like to see your tips on printing cartoons, comics etc, it's ok if you don't want to, I know you are a photographer not an illustrator 🙂

Actually - I would approach such printing exactly as I would photos. Same approach to colour management, same suggestion to use the Canon/Epson print software. Same suggestion that tablets/iPads have no part in high quality print ;-) :-) From a technical POV there is no significant difference that I see? Am I missing some aspect? I guess that some aspects of colour management might need refining for some images, but that applies to some photos or scans of artwork too.

@KeithCooper thanks Keith, I thought there were differences, I've only printing illustrations with my pixma 200, also this may sound super silly but when I print a very white background does the printer uses ink? Or should I delete the background of my images to be sure no ink will be wasted printing shades of white/gray

@@percy66 In theory, pure white is no ink - however some printer setups may print a tiny amount - look at the pure white very carefully with a strong magnifying glass under good light. You may see an occasional individual ink drop. Of no concern from an ink waste POV, but can suggest a setting not quite optimal somewhere.

Well spotted - one of the things about making KZbin videos I truly dislike is the inability to fix the simplest of typos - all 2 seconds of it :-)
