Watching this just makes me want to sit down and re-read the whole story in one sitting. Love his work.

Happy Father's day and love Greg Capullo

I love how the back fill of the lights from the city streets are the perfect reason and excuse to create a reverse sillouhette around them next to the signal. If by some strange twist of fate I ever get to draw a Batman book, I'm going to include the second Batmobile from The Batman starring Rino Romano. I love that car.

Congrats to 20k and a great video! Greg was the reason I fell in love with comic books in the first place! Still love him years ago…

I think Capullo has left his "cartoony" style e become more realistic here. This is good. His art is awesome anyway. Thanks for share!

20K!!!!!!! If anyone ever needs to reference Gotham, the Arkham games are the way to go. In one video he said he uses a traditional mitsubishi 2B pencil.

@@RichardFriendartist Uni Mitsubishi are some of the smoothest I've ever used but I use the leads not the wood pencils.
Because I'm still learning, i mostly use these vids as asmr while i draw/ink. It's helpful cuz i look up every now and then and think "oooh thats how i do that". It's a good time lol

Congrats on the 20K!!! Love Capullo's work and this is a fantastic book. All of the "Unwrapped" books DC put out are. I wish they'd do more of these. The Finch one that featured pencils you did the inks on was especially good. Interesting that big reveal of Scarecrow changed so drastically from pencils to inks, they changed the look of him and got rid of the hat.
@RichardFriendartist3 жыл бұрын
Yeah. I remember that. We did a cover with the hat I think originally!
@allgoldproductions3 жыл бұрын
@@RichardFriendartist The big reveal page in the unwrapped book he's still got the hat, published version is without. Must've had a strong wind knock it off in between times. Ha. Your inks were particularly strong on that page too. That was really a striking image.

Funny that you said you want Greg Capullo on Wolverine because two years later and now he is gonna be doing wolverine interiors in 2024 can't wait.

The dead guys head was lifted in that page because Gordon was holding it up. Batman was standing in front of a holographic scan so he could see the body lifted up but Gordon wasnt in the projection.

I would love to see Greg do another book in the crime noire vein. He does that so well. He's such a good visual storyteller his style lends itself to it. Hell I'd love to see him do a Sam and Twitch book with them solving crimes with supernatural origins. He would kill it as long as he had a decent script and supporting characters.

Basic Training? Do you mean Krash Course which was in the Wizard Magazine back in the early 90ties? That was an awesome comic "how to" by him.

I would like to know the pencils used by Greg capullo . Also does he use a lightbox to trace his enlarged thumbnails/ layout?

Always hated how "muted" the colors on his DC work seemed compared to his work on Spawn. The Metal crossovers seem to be where his art seems to pop a little more.

When artists are such great storytellers like this, I'm always interested in their other influences outside of drawing. Would be cool to know their favorite movies and such. Greg is one of my favorites for facial expressions, too. His Reborn book with Mark Millar has some awesome fantasy art.

Can you check out Goblin slayer manga art? Its very much like berserk and very awesome. Witch hat atelier also has the best fantastical art I've ever seen. Do check them out both on KZbin. Both are rather underrated series.
