I love your work. But I do have a question for you, one that you've probably been asked before. Do you get permission to use characters like capt n crunch in your paintings? I'm always afraid of violating copyright laws. How do you work around this? Again,I love your work.

So the entire Low Brow/ Pop Surrealism movement is built upon "social commentary" of popular culture. I've been doing these sorts of pieces for over 20 years and the guys that have come before me like Robert Williams, Todd Schorr, Mark Ryden, Ron English, Anthony Ausgang etc... have been doing them even longer. The pieces are protected under something called "Parody" . You can look into some more if you like. Now if you were to try to overly mass market a product and say your originated the charachter, that's a different story, but commenting on things out there in the culture is different . At least that's what I've been told.
