Joey Shithead of DOA also released a good unplugged side-project :"Stand" (Sudden Death Records 2023)...

I have no interest in battling with the haters, but you guys need to keep in mind this is NOT a BR album. If Graffin wants to travel a different road on his own, let him. Whether or not it's your bag is irrelevant. This and the previous solo albums don't mean for one second that the next BR album is going to be some bluegrass crap. This is a side project. Imagine being them. The last 40 years playing punk. You can love punk to death like most of us do, but sooner or later you're gonna get bored and need to screw around with some other styles just for fun. This doesn't mean BR is going pussy. It means ONE member wants to dabble with other stuff. You mean to tell me you've never experimented with a hobby that isn't something you're known for? Chill people. BR will still crank out the solid political punk they're known for until the day they retire. Everything is fine my friends.

They all fear and change don't they? I was so fucking amazed and happy to hear these new ideas he wanted to try FOR HIMSELF!😂

He grew up in the bible belt around gospel music. If he hadn't, we may not have ever known the brilliance of his lyrics in Bad Religion.

Loved BR for 15 years, and thought this album was an absolute delight. Fun to hear that classic Americana vibe from such an accomplished voice and backing band, and despite never living anywhere close to Millport- the pictures painted somehow make me miss it all the same.

I like it. Thanks for posting. It's odd hearing Greg's voice on country/pop-ish music, but no objections. Sometimes you feel the rage. Sometimes you want lush melodies. An artist follows his inspiration, and the illustrious Mr. Graffin is doing just that. And yet, some of the BR sentiments leak out inevitably. Too Many Virtues is a song title that could easily be on a BR album.

Muchas gracias por compartir este álbum y acercarnos a esta faceta, ya que la mayoría conocemos a Greg Graffin por su rol en Bad Religion.

Good song writing but not really my cup of tea. How cool would it be if rewrote these songs for a Bad Religion album?
@javahlee17554 жыл бұрын
To say this is almost ridiculous,but the Graffin's carrier solo albuns is better than Bad Religion's "No substance" and "New America" albuns.Id like to see this one stages here in Brasil one day...Cheers.

Well I own those two and like them a lot, so I agree it's ridiculous. Haha

That's clear, it's ridiculous to compare pure punk abums and country rock albums... next time compare bossa nova with Vivaldi if you want !

@@lechatvenere aaafff i did this post 4 months ago,turn the page and me said by myself "ridiculous" this comparation. If i want to compare Napalm death with Chopin,the problem is mine,forget this.

What a load of boring drivel.I think that Bad Religion should call it a day cause their frontman lost the plot and is too old to carry on.BR has been my favourite band for last 15 years or so but after hearing this shit I m not holding high hopes for their next album which might be released sometime in next decade cause Griffin is too busy touring with Kenny Rodgers.I rather listen to Beyoncé than this shit

Have you got the same feeling for all Greg's solo stuff or is it just this one ?
@C0R3ON37 жыл бұрын
Cold as the Clay was pretty good IMO. Considering BR have been around for 36 years now and Greg was 15 when they started, it would be naïve to think that they wouldn't have interests of exploring music outside of the BR style. Of course that doesn't mean that this folk album would be considered good by everyone. As a folk album I find it pretty solid for what it is but that said it really isn't my cup of tea.

Jakub Prandota Greg Gaffin has been into this kind of music since forever. It's his third solo album of this kind actually. In fact, this folk sense is what made Bad Religion become the melodic fast punk we know. They have been liking this stuff since the days they released "Suffer". So... But you dont have to like it anyway.

This is one of the best albums of the year - I love it and I am a huge BR fan since the 80's. And I still am, just saw them again this summer. This album is perfect forn nearly every mood. Why? Because it is simply good music!!! If one does not like it, just don't listen to it - I don't see the problem! You don't need to like BR to like this and vice versa. There is not a weak song on this and I am looking forward to more from Greg in the future.
