The look on Greg Graffins face when the lady next to him was talking about a matriarchal society being "the next evolutionary step" was priceless. He's an evolutionary scientist.... I could tell he was face palming in his head.

I've been married almost 18 years; we're involved parents. My boy is on ski holiday with his father who gives him lots of attention as an only child. It just goes to show that even when everything is perfect, children still can misstep. I also know single parent mums and dads who don't have problems with their children. It's the luck of the draw! Many parents regardless of their marital status have told me that their sons are not performing. These parents say it is laziness not discrimination!

It's not always true that the dumbest ones talk the most, but in this case it certainly was. Graffin and Sommers were clearly the brightest people on that panel, and even though the conversation was about Sommers' book (and she should be able to talk more about it), Sirtis just kept angrily taking over the conversation (and saying incredibly cockeyed and ridiculous things in the process, like women don't physically abuse men).

I can't believe I just say through the clips of this show and Greg Graffin barely spoke. These girls need to realize this isn't The View. However, I do have to say I think the author of that book made really great points. I just wish Graffin would have spoke up more because I would have loved to hear what he had to say

This conversation was very simplistic. I have a son. Despite me supporting him and making sure he has the tools to be successful, he is failing miserably. Why? My boy doesn't want to work. Christina has a point in that boys are preforming below standard, and she places the blame on feminist--just like Bush blamed single mothers for social problems.. Your problem is you can't stand that Sirtis, opened her mouth and out shined Greg. Two PhDs don't make a person infallible. Greg wasn't on his game!

I think it's kind of difficult to speak as a male when three "women" were ultimately insulting his gender. Considering that 2 out of 5 victims of domestic violence are men, Gaffin tried to bring that to light, but of course Sirtis quickly shut that argument down. As a female, it makes me angry and it sickens me that women bully these men and they are called heroes because of it. I'm not a feminist, because the women in history have made that pathway for me. I want equality for men and women.

ok, marina gets annoying but has still makes the most valid points. reading a bunch of sexist hate speech advocating violence towards women is sickening. women may be doing better in school or going to college more frequently, but why then are they getting paid less than men for doing the same jobs across the board? institutional and systemic inequality is a real issue, and men are socialized to aggressively take advantage of this inequality. don't be thick.

She said, "Baptist don't go to hell?" Which translates into do all baptist believe just because they are saved they won't go to hell? Marina is quick witted and one has to think! In short just because people believe they will get into the Pearly Gates, doesn't mean they will because God makes the judgement and not people. That pastor sinned big time and yes he is forgiven, but only God knows if he will get into heaven.

I think that it's funny to see Greg sit there and twittle thumbs. Don't get me wrong, Greg is my hero but it's just funny to me that he can be so vocally anti-authoritarian in Bad Religion and then be quiet here. It's probably cause he is a genius and it hurts to dial it down for these intellectually inept slime stains. Except Bill, I like Bill. No government, no religion!

Clearly Greg is the only person on the stage with an opinion worth sharing, even he can't stoop to the lowly levels of this pointless conversation. What he said in part 2/3 about the abuse of women and the men alike was the best thing that was said surrounded by 1000's of words that held no meaning.

I was really looking forward to watching this video and I sat through all 3 parts in hopes that Marina would be muzzled, have her mic shut off, or at least told that she was in fact contributing nothing to a discussion with on an interesting topic. Is it not a little ironic that Marina managed to completely silent the only intelligent man present by talking about herself whilst ignoring the problem of people being raised to be too self centred?

If Greg is so intelligent like the people on this board are claiming, he should have shown that he could argue the point. Greg doesn't have to kowtow to anyone. In fact he is an example of male privilege, which he didn't want to own up to and which Marina spoke of. I think the men on this board have got to stop praising men just for the sake of praising men. Greg chose not to be part of the argument. In fact when it came to the question on rape, he was asleep! Slandering Sirtis isn't the answer!

Actually, Sirtis was the one who got the conversation back on topic. Second, this conversation was not about winning or losing. It was about how boys have lost gains in education by being discriminated against. Sirtis wasn't buying it, neither do I. Third, Graffin had a bad night and wasn't on his game. I wished people would see this. Finally, Sirtis isn't a femnazi. If you knew her biography, you'd know Gates McFadden and she didn't live a charmed life on Star Trek. The woman has paid her dues!
@fredrika2711 жыл бұрын
What is insulting is posters are belittling Marina and praising Greg. I have to ask myself why this is? I've read Greg has 2 PhDs and is supposedly better debater than the others. A PhD doesn't make you a better debater. Greg didn't speak up or make a significant contribution. I feel many people fell into the stereotype of dissing Marina because she is a woman, stated her opinion and didn't support Hoff Summers thesis. Proof? Look at all the statements on this board calling Marina a dumb b§$%&!
