Before this fight came to be I recall Benavidez saying in an interview, I'm not fighting David Moral! We all know Benavidez is a monster but that interview definitely let us know he's aware he may meet his match in Morell. I think Benavidez is really concerned about the outcome of this matchup and he's about to be in there fighting for his life! Based on that I can see Morell stopping Benavidez between round 4 to 8, if not Benavidez stops Morell between 7 to 12. If we don't get a knockout Morell pulls off with the split decision upset!

Not everyone is Lomachenko. You can’t just be a fighter with 11 pro fights jumping into an matchup with an undefeated elite fighter dead smack in their prime 29-0 and expect things to go well. Everyone always said Vargas was rushed against Tito. He was 20-0 and Tito was 38-0 at the time and Vargas passed some huge eye tests (Campas, Wright, Quartey) leading up to that epic match up. I can’t name one top fighter Morrel has faced. I see no clear cut advantage for Morrel. They’re even in size and i could care less about his amateur pedigree if it hasn’t been tested against his contemporaries. Plant would’ve been a good litmus test. Remember that Loma also lost in 2md pro fights against a guy with 50+ fights.

Clearly the experience made a difference tho since he had over 50 pro fights and this was Loma’s 2nd one. You don’t feed steak to a baby. Morel has nothing to latch on to over here. He’s not noticeably younger, bigger, and he is way less far along than Benavides in fight experience. This is equivalent of asking an A+ student in Algebra to jump straight into a calculus test for a final without having taken Geometry or Algebra 2. Even if the kid is smart, you have to work your way up to that. Nothing has tested or prepared Morel for this type of matchup.
