I have always loved and admired Greg. Sexual orientation is so minuscule compared to talent honed through years of dedication to the craft. It's also obvious that his setbacks due to other's ignorance has only put him and his amazing heart more into the forefront!! ❤

There’s nothing wrong with being gay. But I did not appreciate how he handled his injury at the Olympics. He was HIV positive then and he was allowing the medics to treat him without gloves.. blood dripping everywhere. When you’re positive, it is YOUR responsibility to tell people who may be at risk of exposure whether that is in a sexual encounter or an injury where unsuspecting medical personnel is put at risk. I’ve always held that against him. Otherwise, the best diver of my generation.
@HawthorneHillNaturePreserve3 жыл бұрын
You sound like a Monday morning quarterback. It was early on in the disease, and I can’t imagine what I would be thinking after I hit my head, being treated and having to decide in 5 minutes if I can continue to dive. Do you know how you would have handled it if it was you then? I don’t think so. He owned it and he moved forward despite all the adversity and discrimination. As for the medical professionals, they know better and to handle bodily fluid from anyone, potentially puts them at risk. There is risk even with gloves. You always have to assume people are infectious when you’re a medical professional.
@burninglightfire2 жыл бұрын
@@HawthorneHillNaturePreserve This however does not change the fact that he has the responsibility to tell everyone, who comes in close contact with him either sexually or in circumstances like that, where his blood was running out of his head, that he is positive. Especially during that time in the past they had no buisness assuming that each and every athlete could be infectious! So this is a rather weak excuse and in fact doesn't alter his mistake by not telling it immediatly to prevent infections. Quite the contrary: He let this happen and accepted such serious consequences in order to stay in the competition. Otherwise he is the greatest diver ever and for me this has nothing to do with his sexuality. This is just poor behaviour no matter what age he is, or what sexual preferences he has!

If he is going broke and not feeling that great he needs to step it up a notch and get a little Bruce Jenner in him...then wear a tutu and high dive for pink pickles in P town..that will get him feeling great and back up to #1 in no time.
