+IceCold It is a catchy song. However, the phrase in the title is Yiddish, not German. It was written by Jacob Jacobs and Sholom Secunda for a 1932 Yiddish comedy musical, I Would If I Could

+IceCold I thought it was a German title, too, when I first heard it with English lyrics, especially since the song title on the sheet music used the word 'schoen'. But it is definitely Yiddish. There's a pretty thorough article about it here on Wiki en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bei_Mir_Bistu_Shein
