I agree with Mike on if your a pro sponsored kayak angler show up to all the kayak events. However I also agree with dutcher. Not all of the non sponsored anglers can make it due to affordability. Greg, what are your thoughts about 360 now that you've had some time with it?
@GregBlanchardFishing5 ай бұрын
Love it and think it was the best choice for me when upgrading (vs going to a live sonar). Not needed all the time of course but I told a buddy this the other week it just gives you so much more information and I believe subconsciously it's making me more dialed and tuned in with whats around me even if I'm not using it to make direct pin point casts
@michaelchisholm51085 ай бұрын
Greg it looks like you are reel setting on your drop shot bites. I saw a lot of your fish were lightly hooked. Think you still need to rod set as you reel set to get hook penetration.

You hit that fish right in the noggin that was funny, I think you might need to change up your fishing gear,drags way to light ,rod seems way to flimsy?. Maybe me but in that shallow water try a weightless Senko and just put a nail in the tail with a 5 EWG and try setting the hook straight up your sweeping it parallel to the water which kinda pulls the hook out instead of up blah blah blah just fish better were cheering for you 😊

@TheCupitorVeritatis5 ай бұрын
I've said this many times before, but your drag is set too loose on your drop shot. You're not getting a solid hook set and you can adjust your drag after you've hooked the fish. I use the same rod, a size 4 Decoy hook, and a worm nose hooked and I don't lose nearly as many fish as I've seen you lose and I fish lots of bodies of water with crazy ass smallies. Just a thought.

@drfabulous775 ай бұрын
May I humbly suggest two changes that could help your dropshot setup to up your landing percentage? I swear by a med-light rod instead of a medium -- more give at the boat. And I switched to 10lb mono or co-poly (here in Portugal I use Sufix Duraflex -- great line) instead of stiff flouro to give that extra stretch ...because braid has none. I almost never lose those fish now. Go get 'em!

Least the lost ones this time weren't game changers! Was definitely worth trying for the female, tough luck!
@dreadwraith89405 ай бұрын
You may be losing the hook-set on your fish because of an “augering” effect. Augering happens when a hook pivots on its tip and then rotates. I may be imagining this but you seem to have altered the way you play the fish. You are dramatically changing the angle on your retrieve and that can be enlarging the area around the original point of hook penetration; thereby reducing the amount of flesh contacting the hook. Try maintaining the same angle of the hook-set for as long as possible - no dramatic swings from one side to another. Just a thought.
