Not only does greg put up quality videos, he's one of the most consistent with uploading. Lots of other anglers get a decent following then slack off (understandably) and start putting out shorter videos less and less often. I get it, it's a ton of work with recording and editing but that's just one more thing that separates him from the rest. Mr. Blanchard aka Mr. Beef Jerky and sardines 😁
@jamescanady34422 жыл бұрын
Well said Nick! I've noticed that, too (just like many others). Greg really does grind for us. The dude has his own life, career, and things to deal with in his own world, yet he keeps the quality and quantity coming. I think a lot of people lack the understanding that you do with the subject, when it comes to all of the work beyond the fishing that is; I've heard a lot of people question how it can be so "hard" when you're out fishing and doing something that you love, and it's because they don't understand the time, energy, and effort that goes into everything else - buying gear, prepping gear for a day/night, the angles/shots, ensuring you get quality footage to edit, the music, the conversations with the camera, etc., and of course the entire editing process. I started doing fishing videos a little while back now (with the intention of uploading them when I have a certain amount of episodes), and it opened up my eyes to how much effort some of these guys (like Greg) put in for us. It really made me start to appreciate these types of creators and videos way more. The only way that I've been able to keep myself from taking shortcuts like you mentioned is to constantly remind myself that I'm doing it solely for fun and to enjoy myself through the process of it. That keeps me striving for quality content, but I just cannot match the pace at which Greg creates and uploads. In a year where I've done 12 videos in my spare time, Greg has uploaded a very significant amount. Dude's a beast. And he deserves every single one of his fans and followers.

@@jamescanady3442 definitely man. The editing alone is crazy time consuming and indeed is a skill that has to constantly be tuned.

He paved the way for kayak bass fishing on KZbin. It’s definitely no easy task. Breaking the barrier between viewers and yourself is hard and then to be creative with every single edit in your own way is another difficult task. Not everybody has the time though. I’d say 95% of anglers have Monday-Friday jobs.

Greg. My name is Esteban Medina and I really love kayak bass fishing. My kayak broke. But I wanted to say that I really love your videos. You put so much work and detail into your day on the water. This video of you and Mike on the water and then having that sardine snack together. That really shows botherhood between the 2 of you. That was the best part. Keep making your videos. They are awesome. Keep catching them big ones. Stay cool Greg.

My GoPros die after awhile if I use an external battery...unless I shoot at 1080p. Especially once it gets warm outside. I think it's because they are waterproof so heat can't escape fast enough. It's a real problem for me.

Man. After the ocean prefish I had yesterday, your video was killer and reenergizing !! Worst fishing day on record for me. Beset with a plague of gnats and flies whenever the wind stopped. And I was over 120 feet of water!!!!!! You would think the moment I would move from spot to spot, that would get rid of them! Nope. These things have evolved into being able to hang on at 49 mph!!!!! &;?’j!!!!!!!! Only when the wind blew would they leave. And the fishing absolutely SUCKED. Thanks Greg for renewing my faith!!!! There are fish to be caught after all!!!! Think I have my old Revo sold this week. Will be getting more modern bleach bottle soon. Tight lines and THANKS!!!! Great PB spot and awesome tournament report!!

SARDINES LOL!!! The next time you go for a can, you may try the ones in water (less greasy than oil) and add crackers/mustard to them. By the way, Mike's chopsticks were very cool! Congrats on getting 3rd Place after a slow start - you figured out the pattern! Another lake, if you're interested in exploring is Camp Far West. We finally had our tournament there. It's beautiful and pretty easy to get to with a large parking lot. The launch area is well-maintained, but small. However, with a kayak it shouldn't be too bad. The downside is the bass are tinier than Berryessa's. (Straight up 80 to 65 in Wheatland.) Keep those videos coming! 😊

Congrats on the strong finish! Your sardine snack brought a smile to my face because my buddy and I eat them all the time and get the same reaction from our friends. Hot sauce is a must!
@jamescanady34422 жыл бұрын
Speaking of, I've heard that hot sauce is a great bass attractant, too. I read that lots of anglers will "marinate" their swimbaits in it, especially Huddlestons. Put the bait in a plastic baggie with the hot sauce, and then place the entire baggie in a bowl of hot water. The heat will expand the swimbait and allow it to absorb the sauce, and when it cools down, a lot the sauce/scent will be in the bait and will last for a decent amount of time. I haven't tried it yet, but I need to.
