I had a ticket to see him at Pine Knob in Michigan with ZZ Top that summer, and he was the headliner for me. I couldn't wait! When he pulled out of the tour I knew it was bad...

His singing on all of these Back to Macon songs is so solid, I wonder if standing with the guitar as opposed to sitting at the organ makes a difference. There is a reason these tunes are getting 0 dislikes. This is right up there with the Brothers without the extended dual guitars but more groove.

+Doug J Couldn't agree more... It's been a long time since Greg has sounded /and/ looked this good!

Even in his later years, Gregg belted out the same soulful gritty vocals that hooked me on The Allman Brothers in the first place so long ago, and it still sends chills down my spine. The whole band was just an awe-inspiring force of nature. May God bless every single one of them, both alive & passed - RIP brothers! Much love & respect to you!!

did he mistake timing to go back to singing at 4:40? Even if so, the band did their work perfectly and there was no problem on their performance.

from the look on his guitarists face, seemed like he jumped back in early, but as you say, flawless recovery.

You better go see all these old school rockers before they retire or no longer can perform. We are seeing an entire generation of music pass away right before our eyes. What I would do to go back to 1981-89.

I love you Gregg...you have changed my music life!!!! You are IT to the nth degree. I am so sad...but so glad I flew up from FLA to PA on 4/1/16 and saw your show for the 1st time ever....and I was hooked. Still am and always will be!

Aside from the original this is my favorite version of this classic! Written in 1968 after Greg returned from California. He used burnt match heads because he couldn’t find a pen in the middle of the night!

Is it just me or is this concert some of the best renditions of all of these great tunes? Ain’t Wastin’ Time, like this is unbelievable. My favorite versions of these two songs. Greg was such a blessing to music lovers and humanity. RIP Greg

It's definitely not just you who thinks this is arguably some of his best work. His voice seems much stronger than in some of his earlier offerings. I'm only a couple of years older than he was here, and I can barely speak more than a sentence or two without stopping to take a fresh breath! RIP Gregg Allman

He was a master at composition arrangement songwriting and of course his voice we know is almost otherworldly in its ability to grab you by the heart and squeeze it

@@jamescantrell3066 I believe his voice was stronger here than on a lot of his much earlier work. Like wine, it just seemed to get better with the passing of time.

about history of Allman Brothers, when one sees their shows, one could think, the most important sound could be the sound of their guitar players, but, when i listen Gregg Allman voice with other groups, one take on account what a great man was the Allman singer , acoustic guitar, and organ player. Thank you Gregg
