I think part of the goal of avoiding blitzing last week was also to practice getting home with only 4. We struggled with that at times last year. And this game in particular, we need all the extra help in coverage we can get.

Showing my age perhaps. Colorado never seemed like a rivalry to me. It was always Nebraska/Oklahoma. Then Coach McCartney designated it their rivalry game but I never saw it that way.
@GermanBelgianwaffleАй бұрын
What about 2005 Nebraska ended Gary Barnett and Colorado's run with 30-3 drubbing. Since then Colorado has had one winning season and a 34% winning percentage. That is way worse than nebraska since 2001. We had a string of 6 straight 9+ win seasons. But we gave up on Pelini.
@chadpaulsen2953Ай бұрын
i think Bo should have gotten another season. but that massacre from Wisconsin was too much for eichorst. We had so much volatility in the administrative offices that is made it impossible to run a football team no matter who is there.

I was once on an int'l flight (more than 10 years ago). This was between two Asian cities, like Singapore to Manila. I traveled the world from bases in SF Bay Area and San DIego area from about 1999-2006. Few Americans on these flights and my seat was next to an American and we started a pleasant conversation. Naturally we're learning about our backgrounds, and he found out my Bachelor's degree is from UNL. This lucky CU grad won the lottery - Nebraska Nice right there in the plane! At that point he stopped participating in the conversation. I was shocked that someone could be so immature.

I agree with everything said about Dion's approach to college football, which is certainly not mainstream and how he interacts with the press. And I support the gentleman that you had on today. I would question the name calling. You can Google to see the several derogatory names that were used. I don't remember any columnists to regularly covered Nebraska speaking that way about Scott Frost. Despite all the travails that we went through. I could be wrong but that's the only thing I would point out that he could have done different

It amazes me now that Deon is in Colorado, and he's not allowing the media to handle him rough. This is all Sean can report. Let's be honest. Did any of them treat the other coaches the same. We know the media have a real problem with yes Black men and women in powerful leadership in sports. Give the same respect you give to everyone. The media keep us divided.

When I went to the NU/CU game in 2019, I was a senior in high school and tore my knee in a high school game. I was on crutches and after the game I asked a CU student how to get to the parking lot. This guy points in a direction and I walk two minutes on crutches, he pointed me to a cliff!

A reminder to the old heads who think "Nebraska is above storming the field against a bad team" - Nebraska stormed the field after beating weak Oklahoma teams once in the 80s and once in the 90s. And that was at a time Nebraska was dominant. A win against CU means way more than those wins did back then, people should 100% storm the field.
@Corn_StacheАй бұрын
To anyone nationally viewing it, it would look like a bunch of drunk hillbillies storming the field after beating up on a mentally challenged child. We would look even more stupid than a Dbag QB waving around his Rolex on the field. Idgaf about being “above storming” I do give a shit when we look foolish in front of the entire country storming the 2nd game of the year like we’ve done something important. We’ll beat a team that we hate yes, but that team won’t even make a bowl game so in 3 weeks we’ll look pretty freakin stupid for storming the field over beating a team that should have already lost to an FBS team.
@bigredrant2354Ай бұрын

@JackClarke-zb8ujАй бұрын
I’m a little surprised you didn’t mention the best way to defend against Buffs QB is to keep him on the sidelines. Nebraska’s best strategy, get running game going over and over and over. Then run some more. Buffs can’t do anything damage watching game from sunny east sidelines.
@JackClarke-zb8ujАй бұрын
You mentioned CU rivalry started in earnest in mid-eighties. That may be, CU frustration goes way back. Nebraska did own Colorado for years. Even when CU was good in 70-71, top three, Nebraska was better. Generations of buffs fans grew were resolved to losing the Huskers for so many years and passed their resentment on to their children and their children’s children. I attended the 1978 game in Boulder as a student, surrounded by Colorado fans. CU was up early 14-3. The crowd was hopeful maybe this would be the year. Nebraska won 52-14.
@spencersmith4373Ай бұрын
Anyone who doesn't think of Iowa-Nebraska as a rivalry is out of touch with the fans. When you live on the border and work with and have friends who are Iowa fans and talk to them every day... they absolutely hate Nebraska and love talking shit. Iowa is a rivalry in the eyes of the fans, I circle it on my calendar every year.

.Love to hate the Sooners. Much respect .Have to hate the Texans. You've seen Texans. They think they're pretty special. They're the reason we left the Big 12 turned out to be a good decision. .Minnesota just a nerdy cousin that always bugs you pain in the butt. .Wisconsin, we bump heads against them in a lot of things. Good team, love to beat them. Iowa cross-border rivals .Win, lose or draw. Iowa will always be Iowa and we can take comfort in that. GBR

If we want one big team to play without fear of them being a national power, we get a series vs colorado. We know deion is gone in the next few years, or maybe after this year. This is not long term for Deion. But it would be a power 4. But I do believe we will be going to divisional super league in 5 years. Much like the NFL.
