That's what happens when you travel from a pueblo magico to the biggest city of la republica. I know because I come from a pueblo magico and when I first visited CDMX, it was definitely a culture shock for me.

Mexico City, Mexico's largest city and the most populous metropolitan area in the Western Hemisphere, is also known as Distrito Federal, or the federal district. It is the country's economic and cultural hub, as well as home to the offices of the federal government.

That's just not true. Mexico city has 9.5 million people and the whole metropolitan area has 23 million people. So no, and if we're talking about surface NYC is 4,669.0 sq mi and Mexico city is 3,037.0 sq mi

And, you have all economic types in the DF. At the resorts, where the well-heeled are, is not your typical, generally awesome live and let live Mexican that I've met, known, and appreciated over my decades traveling there. It's like saying that the Americans you meet in Aspen are representative of all Americans.😉

@@franberes7641 Poor understanding of how the virus moves amongst us Fran. Huge amount of virus moving among people who feel fine transferring to others who will get sick from same virus that did not sicken the other person. Until people can hold this fact in their heads the virus will continue to rule.

Not too many to be honest. Omicron lockdowns are not happening yet. Malls, national parks are open. Just have to wear a mask indoor and outdoor. When you enter anywhere they take your temperature and offer antibacterial gel. That is pretty much it. No vaccination records or QR codes are needed to visit public places. Cinemas are operating as usual, some offer distant sitting. You are supposed to wear a mask inside but no one does.....
