What now, my love, now that you left me? How can I live through another day Watching my dreams turn into ashes And all my hopes into bits of clay? Once I could see, once I could feel Now I'm numb, I've become unreal I walk the night, oh, without a goal Stripped of my heart, my soul What now, my love, now that it's over? I feel the world closing in on me Here comes the stars tumbling around me And there's the sky where the sea should be What now, my love, now that you're gone? I'd be a fool to go on and on No one would care, no one would cry If I should live or die What now, my love, now there is nothing? Only my last goodbye Only my last goodbye

You need to hear Elvis' interpretation of this song, it is out of this world

Elvis and the writer of the song, Gilbert Becaud, are the best interpreters of it. Frank Sinatra's version could have been a good one, if was not for the jazz. This is not a song for jazz neither for gregorian chant. Gregorian chant is good, amazingly beautiful, for religious liturgies.

This song was composed and interpreted by one of the great "voices" of French and world music .... Gilbert Becaud ... the original version as natural is interpreted in French and has the title "Et maintenant (1961)". ... the English version has as title "What now my love" .... in English there are many coverings over time (Engelbert H., Shirley Bassey, Frank Sinatra, The Temptations, Elvis Presley (only live version), the most recent cover with this song was performed by singer Agnetha Faltskog (ex ABBA) in 2004 .... there are versions made by big orchestras among them more special is made by the great MANTOVANI ...
