"I'm waiting in the wings while the trees undress & cupping my ear to hear the wind confess..." That is all I have to say. Simply read those lyrics. Amazing song.

Phenomenal. There's not a song he's made that I've ever not loved.

it's like he's singing for his self, and that's awesome. it's like he's sitting in his front porch and drinking whiskey and watches his wheat farm while sunset, in.. I don't know.. Colorado

Really, he grows wheat? I thought he was into pumpkins and other odd veggies.

Another who plays Pickathon, and gets a following that fest has introduced me from everyone from my homie Langhorne, to Billy, Shakey, man the list just goes and goes…. Live and breathing have some of their best but… Got tix to see GAI at RRocks Sept 1&2 🙏 the symphony backs him one night. He’s a poet, storyteller and he killed Roo this year. But he’s been around for well over a decade, the man has some incredible talent. No flash, just authenticity

I can see this song playing at the wedding of maybe an older couple who lost their long time loves but find a second chance at love.

I'd never seen or heard anything from Gregory Alan Isakov until recently. It's part of the OST of a film that I watched two days ago, Lazy Eye. I've ordered it from Amazon and I feel it's going to be a long-last relationship. His work is amazing.

Gregory reminds me of my internal conversations of love and live / live and love. He distills this in to a melodically honest yet edgie sound and lyrical image. Thanks for the art. Wes Stiger

When one door closes we pray for that second and so forth to never close and remain open. Will one remain open or choose to be alone?

All of my heroes sit up straight They stare at the ground They radiate Me, I'm mumbling in the kitchen for the sun to pay up Lonely is a ring on a cold coffee cup I'm some sick hound Digging for bones If it weren't for second chances, we'd all be alone My hands they were strangers lost in the night They're waving around in the dusty light I'm waiting in the wings while the trees undress Cupping my ear to hear the wind confess I'm a ghost in the garden Scaring the crows If it weren't for second chances, we'd all be alone I'm running from nothing, no thoughts in my mind Oh my heart was all black But I saw something shine Thought that part was yours, but it might just be mine I could share it with you, if you gave me the time I'm all bloody knuckles, longing for home If it weren't for second chances, we'd all be alone I'm a shot through the dark I'm a black sinkhole If it weren't for second chances, we'd all be alone
