As a beginner, I like that he talks through a lot of variations and doesn't dismiss dumb ideas right away. Although i see how this can be frustrating for more experienced players.

Yeah GM Ken West actually comes up with the right moves a lot of the time. Very suspicious...

Please, don't let the kids talk if it isn't kids class. I think it's great that kids are learning chess, but we all know they are not really thinking, they are just saying the first legal move they see. It doesn't help them learn chess at all and it makes videos 30% longer. If you want to see how it's done, watch some of the Akobian's videos, where he says exactly what I'm saying... "Think! Don't just say moves. THINK!!"
@yuralemin17547 жыл бұрын
trdi yeah I agree this lecture the kids were just naming legal moves on the board
@dallinkoger55337 жыл бұрын
trdi Let the kids learn. I understand your argument. I taught the chess merit badge in scouting and I understand they sometimes throw out the first move they see. But, it's better for them to look learn why not then them sitting there wondering why not to do that particular move. And I love that they allow know if to attend.
@yuralemin17547 жыл бұрын
Dallin Warner yeah but being able to check your moves before you play, or tell them out, is also an important part of chess.

Those kids are in this class because their parent are paying for that. So tell me why they should be restrained? To please a random person watching that for free on youtube? Yeah... good luck with that
@trdi7 жыл бұрын
That's exactly the worst possible reply. If the parents need kindergarten, send them to kindergarten. If they want chess teaching, then the kids must follow the rules of the institution. Saying I am paying for this, my kid can do whatever he wants is ridiculous. They are making the lesson worse for other paying attendees. Whichever kid chooses to just keep saying random moves is ruining it for EVERYONE else in that room, including other children, That's why, for example, when Var noticed what's going on, he requested that people raise their hands if they want to say moves. And if one kid kept just saying moves without providing a reason why, he just wasn't called anymore. There is responsibility towards everyone else attending, who also want to actively participate, is my guess.
