Your channel is a gold mine. Thank you so much for posting so much content for free. I am reading Confessions now before tackling City of God and this core series has been a most helpful supplement.

I wonder, did Augustine break the snare, or did the snare let him slip because he could not be enticed by, controlled by, or submit to, the falsehood?
@GregoryBSadler Жыл бұрын
Perhaps both.

Unfortunately Augustine mixed some of this Gnostic teachings into Christianity.

Nah. Good luck with your studies

Why do you say that?

@@jesusistheanswer2074 Because the comment was silly poorly-informed bullshit. Why are you butting into the conversation?

Gnosticism certainly makes sense to me. An all-powerful all-loving "god" wouldn't have created this cesspool of a planet. And Man in his present condition is half animal. Christianity, Islam and Judaism are inherently self-contradictory.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I'd avoid silly hyperbole like sweeping claims about those religions being " inherently self-contradictory", if you want to be taken seriously

Read Ireneaus' "Against Heresies".

Yes those religions are all stolen from Sumer then Akkad Babylon so yeah their theology is all false and proven to be stolen. This biological life is evil so a good god wouldn't create this unless it's darkness v.s. light theology it's the ancient Sumerian one god belief. It's obvious Manichaeism was the most hated religion and all of Mani's books are missing and all the Babylonian literature is missing...

Your claims alone betray your real argumentation, which is seemingly based on emotionalism and your own greivances. It doesn't logically follow that "bad thing happen therefore God not good/God not real".

I would like to add that what @darkangelmars said about God applies to Reality just as much.
