@PokeFX_TubeАй бұрын
I would do 512gb and at least 24gb RAM. You can add external SSDs that run super fast and it’s cheaper. I already have 4TB SSDs, so getting the 512gb is the go to. The 256gb is slower and that internal SSD will be the ignition one, so you better get the faster SSD (512gb).
@sunnyboat777Ай бұрын

24gb for sure, I upgraded to the 16gb on my M1 when it came out and 1TB storage and I'm VERY happy I did, so yeah avoid the base model, get the 3rd choice and bump up to 1TB. @@brentinjapan well it depends! I use the 512gb internal for the OS and software installations. All the rest is directly going to the external SSD! In my case, video games, videos I edit, my music, pictures, etc. If you have many software licenses and most of them are heavy, then I recommend getting the 1tb, because you will fill up the 512gb with just installations. Though, I still have like 90gb free and I have like 8 development software, 3-4 audio editing software, 3 video editing software and like 50 more installations lol. I am pleased that the base level iMac now comes with 16 Gb of RAM and that the baseline iPad mini comes with a 128 Gb SSD. This is because Apple produce very few units that are not inadequately specified base models. It is very difficult to buy anything other than base models in a shop. The two iPhones that I have bought were half price unsold old retail stock. I did not have the option of buying the amount of flash storage that I wanted with them. I bought a 2 Tb SSD for my PC for £200 2 years ago and then a faster 4 Tb SSD for £200 recently. This shows that Moore's law still operates in the manufacture of flash memory (and RAM). Apple should pass on these savings to their customers and double base flash storage and RAM at no extra cost every 2 years.

Hey, I got a video idea for ya. A friend and I were talking about new iPhone innovation, and since we're starting to stagnant, the thought process became "What if the innovation is integrating older or extra phones into one's life." So say for example, you don't buy the iPhone 17 so much for new features, but that it'll free up the 16 to act as an extra device. I know a lot of youtubers have used older iphones as extra cameras, but what would the potential be if a big company pushed for more mainstream uses. With proper software and accessory support -- what really could be the potential of having multiple phones? Could one be turned into like a Stream deck? What about a thermastat. Security camera use? As a security camera or a display monitor? The options right now are limited because there's no industry support. But what if it became mainstreamed. And Apple (could) have a massive first-player advantage knowing that all of their devices are in the ecosystem. Tethering up 6 iphones using the same software is a lot easier than trying to wrangle together 6 random androids. Anyways, food for thought, and a video I would love to see!

256 is low but you can get a TB4 enclosure with 2TB that is probably just as fast as internal or close. Then use the internal really as a boot drive and you have 2TB for your storage drive.
