when your medium and acrylic retarder dries out, do you put another coat on top over and over again? Or is it just mostly the backgrounds that you use the mediums with?

I mainly use the medium with the background. But that is a series of layers as well.

Ok cool so it is acrylic...yeah I'm going to be getting into acrylics soon..I gave up on oils..as they just take forever to dry and are just too toxic to the environment at times..they looked nice..but yeah not for me...seeing as acrylics are cheaper in the long run and can produce works just as smooth...im all for it!!
