19:00 I was burning wood in 20+ coke ovens for charcoal and creosote, which was burnt in railcraft boilers for steam. Charcoal were compressed once before burnt, extra charcoal blocks in a drawer buffer were used to make steel in the BBFs. To get the wood, I used IC2 crops/bonsais and crop harvestor (maxed out at 11x11 I believe). This full automated farm was more of late LV or MV solution though, because the crop harvestor requires aluminum and the cropnalyzer for checking stats require MV circuit. So until then, I used a large clearing to manually plant a lot of those 2x2 giant spruce trees and harvest them every 20min or so to build a giant buffer of wood to last me to MV. Then switched to high stats spruce bonsais once I could make the cropnalyzer to start breeding crops for stats. And boom, stacks and stacks of wood start building up faster than the ovens could burn (20+ growth and gain bonsais are pretty insane). As for the wood distribution to the coke ovens, the limiting factor is not the pipes but rather the conveyors pulling wood out of an inventory. I didn't do any math, but I attached 3 conveyors to different sides of a drawer because I figure that's enough to saturate the tiny/small tin item pipe network. And that turned out to be enough to keep more than 20 coke ovens stocked with wood at all times (i.e. there's enough throughput to check and fill every oven before one recipe of wood to charcoal is done). Replace the LV conveyors with a single MV conveyor later.

Nice! Sounds like you have a good setup going, hopefully soon I can get it all working. I'm thinking of actually skipping rc boilers and going straight to the GT Lbb for steam. Sure it will cost a lot more to get up and running but it should be more efficient and help with pollution output. We'll see.... thanks for the insight :D
@soulawaken242 жыл бұрын
@@Threefold. Yea that would be nice too!! :) I was gonna switch to the GT Large boilers too, but I was so close to my first diesel setup so I gave up on it. Would love to see how the setup work out and whether it's more efficient. I played this part on the patch with pollution disabled so I won't know which setup is more pollution efficient, but I would guess one multiblock probably produces less pollution than 24? 😂 For wood you can try the forestry tree farm route too if you don't feel like breeding the crops! xD

So much creative and excellently done editing in this video. Loving every minute of it, I know the off screen work on this modpack can be a real grind sometimes but it really is such a monumental mental challenge to efficiently beat this modpack. A tip from personal experience is to try to not get over efficient with it, cause it can burn you out by the time you get mid game, But maybe that’s just me. I gave up on this pack twice before I was happy enough to finish it completely. If you beat it on your first world then that’s a huge achievement in my opinion.

You can make steel casing in the alloy smelter 2->3 You should really use the macerator to make crushed ore to smelt over just smelting ores In the machine GUI you can pick what circuit you want, you do not need to craft a programmed circuit and put it in single block machines For wood, bonsais are best
@tikkj2 жыл бұрын
When you start expanding steam production, however that looks, I'd recommend adding a bank of steam macerators, or looking into the bronze multiblock for ore processing. I had like 10 machines I was throwing all my basic ores into pretty deep into the pack - spamming these is much cheaper, quicker & easier to power for most basic ores than upgraded versions. Also good for gravel in forge hammers, etc. I'd also recommend keeping samples of unprocessed rare ores for your divining rod. And not just the ores - unless they nerfed it (it's been a while), lootgame blocks, chests, whatever can also be used in the wand to find underground structures.
@reclipsel2 жыл бұрын
The bronze 3x3 macerator is MUCH more efficient with power and can do 16x the ores per craft iirc, and its also overclockable again iirc

I’m pretty sure the item pipe throughput will matter, because they don’t round robin. So the pipe will lock onto the first coke oven fill it with a stack, then go to the next and next, but the pipes send the items in packets. So by the time the coke ovens furthest from the source of items start to get items the ovens at the front will have burned 1 item, and the pipe will send just a single item to that oven. Because of this, when you have enough ovens some of the furthest ones will never get any items. 24 might be below the limit though. This was probably super badly explained but I hope it’s understandable

Here is a list of wood farms: LV- Steve's carts no energy cost, but you have to use diamonds to rapair the cart once in a while. Kinda slow MV- Bonsai trees with chavester. Really cheap, uses energy, it has small range MV- Forestry multifarm needs energy, water, fertylizer and electronic components. Huge range and fast HV- Farming station - uses energy and it's fast There is also tree growth simulator but i never used it. Also i see you dont macerate all the ores because it's slow. I think it's time for you to invest into steam grinder. It runs on steam and is as fast as HV Macerator ( or even faster not sure ). Combine that with railcraft oven for fast bulk processing.

L does not stand for litres in GTNH, it's just one of many nonsensical unit of Gregtech measurement. Same with the temperature being measured in K, which does not stand for Kelvin in this case. I don't think the direct recipe for crafting cables is more efficient, just with less steps, maybe? Doesn't really matter, you're not going to be using either for very long anyway. Something you could have done to speed up those steam machines (and something you might still do if you want to complete quests and put those steam machines to work in your kitchen, later) is upgrading them to their High Pressure variants. In this pack it's extremely cheap to upgrade *most* steam machines to high pressure versions, and given that the latter aren't as slow it's very worth it. Plus, quest completion. For what it's worth, leaves are broken quickly by axes or at least TiC hatchets in this pack. You could keep a hatchet on you to quickly clear leaves when going through the rubber trees. Steel also goes...actually I don't know if blocks of coal coke smelt steel *faster*, as such. Obviously it smelts more at once, but I'm not sure if it's the same amount of time spend smelting per ingot. Well blocks are more fuel efficient, at any rate, so try to use blocks to fuel your BBFs. For reference there's no limit to what size pipe can connect to what other size, a huge pipe will happily connect to a tiny pipe, but pipe connections can look really bad if you're not connecting to pipes one size lower/bigger at most. Just something to keep in mind if you end up with exposed pipes that you don't want to look off. For reference, that in-machine integrated circuit feature was added in the latest stable. Just remember that before this patch every time Three uses a machine that needs a circuit you needed an actual external circuit, program it, and put it in the machine. Why, yes, this made getting into LV even more of a grind than it is currently. Pigman get aggrod whenever you mine an ore (large or small) within their range. If they're Infernal pigman with the poisonous or withering traits (whatever those are called) they can actually poison/wither you through walls. So, eh, yeah. Be careful about that. Also that one pigman that caused the red chat messages was a Vampire pigman. They take minimal damage from non-wooden or Smite(?) enchanted weapons, and hit hard. There's also Vampire Ghasts, for those who think that's not awful-sounding enough. Tetrahedrite is is something that can later be processed into liquid Platinum Pain Train, as I call it, so I would recommend saving it if possible. The same is true for Chalcopyrite, albeit in a different way. Of course saving both means not having a lot of sources of copper income, and you're not going to need any less of it going forward, so your call on what to store for later and what to use now. Single block machines can only output to one side, but ever since the latest patch they are able to output to the top and bottom. If you build a Combustion Engine (or Semi-fluid generator, one of the two) you should be able to burn Creosote Oil directly into power. It's not going to produce a lot per bucket, but it's better than nothing. Look up the *uses* of a Creosote Oil Cell in NEI, and there should be a tab listing valid combustion or semi-fluid fuels, depending on which creosote is, as well as their fuel value. *Many* multiblocks in GTNH can wallshare, in fact most of them can. Get used to this mechanic and get comfortable with it, because it will save you enormous amounts of materials. The throughput on those pipes does matter, in fact, because those pipes don't work the way you're expect them to. In general GT item pipes are really bad and awful and laggy, but they're all you've got access to right now, so gotta use them.

L is in fact for litres (1000L is one block aka 1m³). K is similarly for kelvin. Negative kelvin values are unintentional and are a bug.
@Royal_40962 жыл бұрын
Creosote oil can also be burned in the railcraft boiler
@Threefold.2 жыл бұрын
Yeah the copper situation I'm not worried about processing now without the extra byproducts from higher tier machines, I'd rather take the extra ingots now and find more later. As for processing in general some macerators are really not a bad idea few people have suggested that Actually planning on skipping the RC boilers and going straight to the GT Lbb. It will be a little more costly investment but it will be a more robust setup I feel. Plus it will look cool I think.

@@Royal_4096 True, the combustion/semi-fluid solution is just a faster/cheaper/simpler way to at least get something out of excess creosote oil, if you're not going the Railcraft boiler route.
