Shoutout for this. It’s definitely interesting to hear what BAZE looks/feels/and sounds like to others or in this case by outsiders who are inside the industry, especially with the rebrand in-effect now. Much love for popping by, to be honest we never really get industry figures coming out to Baze, it’s one of the reasons why I feel it has an underdog status to it. Till then we continue to push 🙏🏾

30:21 I drove down to Johannesburg in 2013 for 2 months for networking purposes. Fast forward to 2014. I landed a residency in Sun City. And I feel like if I didn't invest in myself, I would not have gotten noticed for the residency in the North West province

3:22: Bro too many DJ's trying to keep it real for other DJ's, If you are not headlining the gig, you are there to keep the patrons entertained. Whether its new or old, You can't rock up to a club known for RnB and Old school, and dish out thick serving's of new trap and Piano. You can give them a taste here and there, But heading off too much in a 'keeping it real direction', is a recipe for not getting booked again. 80/20 Principle is a key here, Please 80% of the crowd and piss off 20%, or vice versa? I play at a venue weekly, where a lot of DJ''s play a lot of new tracks and it goes down top tier, as the crowd has come to that venue expecting to hear new shit. If I Have to say one thing, forget about keeping every set fresh as F, DJ's should focus on playing the right music at the right venues. There's a time to play that new shit or bust out that super-technical word-tone-play thingamajig set, Playing the right set at the right venues is the most important thing, this is what separates Good DJ's from the Great ones.

I think it’s good to be on your toes and always want to know “what’s next” because in the entertainment industry you can’t be stagnant else you’ll just get over taken by other people

7:32 cape town doesn't appreciate vokol. So you forced to do your own events. This gate keeping kak is why people don't get booked on the bigger platforms
