Fun fact: Gizmo was supposed to be the main bad guy of this movie, but Steven Spielberg (the executive producer of this movie) said that Gizmo was too cute to be evil and that the audiences wanted to him to stay alive throughout the whole movie. So that was why we got Stripe as the main bad guy in this movie and it completely shows.

The reason Gizmo is different from the other Mogwai, is because he is an example of a ''Minority'' of the Mogwai species, while the other 5, are examples of the "Majority" of the Mogwai species. The Majority of the Mogwai species is best described as 'evil'. They are mischievous, and conniving from the moment they are born, and have a twisted sense of humor, born with a hatred for the "Minority". The "Minority" of the species, are gentle and charitable, and wish no one any ill. They only, wish to be loved and cared for responsibly, and prevent an outbreak of the 'Majority', by only a few drops of water. They are great to keep as pets, as long as one follows the 3-rules. However, there is only, a very slim chance of any new Mogwai offspring, being one of the "Minority" species (like Gizmo). The odds of a 'Minority' are only, one-in one-thousand (1/1000).

Mogwai means Devil or Demon in Cantonese. It tells me they are born that way. My theory is that Mr. Wing found one Mogwai many years ago, raised it away from the others that were like him, but taught him good meanings and made sure that it was kept safe from evil intentions, hence him being very firm about not selling him in the first place. So much responsibility has to go to keep him safe in order to prevent any evil intentions that may come upon.

If I were Billy, I would've built a cage, that would prevent them from being able to escape, but plenty large enough to allow for all 5 of the new Mogwais to live comfotably, together, with adequate room space. The new, little, ones wouldn't like it one bit, but they would be easily controlled, because all their movements would be restricted to the confines within the cage. They would not be able to get into any trouble, and the 3-rules are easily, adhered to.
