I think possibly this was brought out partly due to the fact Gremlins was given a certificate "15" in the UK and not "PG". Me and all my friends were devastated and back in the day had to wait what seemed like ages for the video rental shop to get it in.

Stripe really WAS practically invincible; I always liked Billy’s words to Kate as they go over to Montgomery Wards to finish him off: “Whatever we do, we can’t let him get to water; otherwise it’ll start all over again.” So true; Stripe may have been a ninja, but ninja or no ninja, Billy and Kate had to destroy him if it was the last thing they did.

Yeah,I remembered in that year of 1984 as the movie Gremlin was getting popular in the United States in that Christmas Season.Almost every kids in America wanted a Mogwai Gizmo stuff animal as a present.

Thank you from this I can see where certain things got inspiration and what inspired the movie. Furbys look like gremlins The eggs look like eggs from Alien The not liking light is from Dracula I'm sure the way they spawned was in TMNT one time The spawning from water is like plant life and I get the impression the swimming pool scene is just like the scene in Alien vs Predator. Imagine being 45 and never seen Gremlins? 🤣
