Reagan called this op to take heat off of him on account of the 244 Marines he had just gotten killed in Beirut. What did he say? "Uh, my mistake".
@twright38022 жыл бұрын
Absolutely correct. And he did nothing to the perpetrators who bombed the barracks.

There was a reason why Britain and France went to war over the Suez Canal in 1956. ...... America stopped that operation, and the world has paid through the nose ever since.

If they didn't take Grenada, the Military industrial complex was in danger of loosing a valuable link in their drug business!

If only all war's were such walk's on the park. No disrespect meant.

Truth is most of them are. Iraq and Afghanistan were over with within months. But we stayed and got involved in things we really shouldn't have and ended staying for 20 years and lot of blood and sweat and tears.

Wasn't a walk in the park for the 19 Americans that got KIA. We lost 241 Service members in Beiruit and 19 in Grenada in a span of a few days. I was a young Marine with Fox Company 2/8 22 MAU. Grenada and Beirut..

This does not mention the many mishaps that happened. It was so bad that congress passed a bill to correct it, the Goldwater-Nichols Act en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goldwater%E2%80%93Nichols_Act . This correction was very important during Desert Storm.

It was labeled as bad, this is US news it’s not the only news source on this event at the time. There was Global condemnation for the breaching of a nations sovereignty.

What exactly is "light anti-aircraft fire"? Was 12.5 mm quad AA guns not considered heavy duty? The footage of Pearls Airport was not on D-day, which happened pre-dawn.
@andersed12 ай бұрын
No, that is considered light. Approx 40 mm to 70mm is considered medium, 70mm and up is heavy.
