One correction on the narration about the air cover during Operation Urgent Fury. It was the A-7 Corsair II, not Crusader as one of the aircraft that flew air cover. I should know because it was my squadron (VA-15) that was involved flying the A-7's.

Benny, didja notice that the narrator called the A-7s "A-7 Crusader Twos"? As you know, the A-7 was the "Corsair II"; the Crusader was the F-8. The goof jumped out at me since i served in an F-8 Crusader squadron (VF-154) during the Vietnam War, but have worked on both aircraft, the A-7 as a civilian.

I met a female E4 in Germany a few years later with a combat patch. She was way too young for Vietnam so I asked her about it, she said she flew into Grenada on a DC9 and was there for about 12 hours LOL, she thought the credit for it was stupid...

Yes, that little bit of intel did not make it to the talking heads, but seeing what is happening in the military today under the present Generals and Admirals makes what they did back then pale in comparison. Today the WOKE crowd and the cross dressers are running amuck and it makes one wonder how things are going to go in the next one, and there will be a next one. Communists never quit and never give up.

You make no mention of the failed seal team that drowned on insertion, the current was too strong for them and they were swept away to their deaths. US navy vessels could not get close to the island because the US navy were relying on charts that were nearly 100 years old. The runway was being extended to allow larger larger planes full of tourists to land, and was being funded by the EU.
