"Consciousness cannot be accounted for in physical terms. For consciousness is absolutely fundamental. It cannot be accounted for in terms of anything else." - Erwin Schrödinger

I appreciate that someone, at last, tried to define spirituality before talking about it. It leaves me none the wiser though.

A very clear job explaining the nature of reality, but without accounting for the origin of the mind and the environment in which the mind interacts. I suppose these explanations can only come from special revelation.

Or science based reality, the evidently true... That beats stabs in the dark every time, however much someone chooses to believe nonsense.

rahowhero The bible creation account is not a shot in the dark. It has historical veracity.

10:00 NOT cutting of the branch he is sitting on ! Depends on what definition and understanding of 'conscious experience' and 'knowledge'. i.e. Consciousness is neuron structure and workings, knowledge is neuron structure expressing relationships is entirely self consistent and not self refuting / detonating.

Well surprise, surprise, circular / question begging reasoning from the religious. Conscious Experience = cool spiritual ethereal fuzzy feeling ( the very thing under question ) Ah ! I got them ... they are now idiots to deny 'experiences' existence ... ta da !

+Hythloday71 You're clearly a moron who 1) doesn't know the first thing about the hard problem and 2) provides no explanatory model for how consciousness emerges from simple off and on switches while mocking the very person who underscores this perennial mystery. You start with the assumption that mind equals brain and then argue a conclusion premised on a materialist belief. Talk about 'circular reasoning.' Calling the kettle black? That's an ad hominem by the way but for this case, it works.

I have no idea what either one of you are talking about or trying to say. But do you both still have the same stance as you did 4 years ago?

I honestly feel like somehow I tapped into a spiritual dimension of some kind cause when I had came back into my town from being away for a couple days when I got to my neighborhood everything was grey and worn down and felt dead there was nobody outside no cars entering or leaving the neighborhood trees were dead grass was dead houses looked old and abandoned road looked old and cracked too the only way I could explain it well was that it looked like somebody took a grey crayon and colored the whole neighborhood grey

Your town didn't change, you have. You have grown, ascended into a higher frequency, higher dimensional state of consciousness, and either awakened, enlightened, transcended or experienced non-duality aka post awakening sadhana

If you want to know what something looks like while no one is looking, simply use video or photography. Simple really, no need for 11 dimensions, or any philosophy at all, just a simple, repeatable, falsifiable experiment.

***** you can make that argument about anything, including what you are currently seeing.

***** you are never directly observing anything other than a narrow band of 'reflected' electromagnetic waves, through your eyes and interpreted by brain to form picture, this takes time so isn't direct but a milli second or so after event or more if object is further away, like the sun. All is interpretation of the available data.

the moon exists even if you don't look at it, atoms are restricted in a probabilistic range of positions but that doesn't mean they don't exist. Also from radio dating we know that actions, events and "beholding" occur naturally and not man is needed. If only man was the cause of radio activity, when we carbon date a dinosaur bone should be not old at all. Quantum Events and collapses occur naturally, simply man can focus or cause an effect inside a smaller probabilistic range.

They must be handing the title of professor out for any old shit these days, professor of smurfology?, of wizard of ozology, or are only certain obvious fairy tales considered. Shame Gresham, shame! If it isn't evidently true, it has no place in serious education.
