I attended a lecture given by Lord Hailsham many years ago, he presented an almost moribund view of the Judiciary. Mr Grant's presentation is so much more vital. Thank you for your time.

Three splendid lectures. Bravo, Sir. I earnestly hope that if I ever find myself in the dock, I can call upon you to be my advocate.

fidelitas securitas : is the auctioneers' & estate agents' motto : as is the TERTIARY role of architect jegens client and contractor... at auction, one ONLY judges when the product does not meet its description; the rest is between the buyer and seller! we MUST do so, to protect ALL. *caveat* a Queen's Councillor might not be the best political reporter of subtropical colonial historical fact ;)

The judgment in Leaf v International Galleries actually captures in English law something very like the principle you've outlined. As to your caveat, I'd revise what a Queen's COUNSEL (as opposed to, say, a Privy COUNCILLOR) actually does, and then I hope you'd agree that it has no bearing on their opinion on Britain's colonial history.
