As someone who has survived an abusive relationship, I can tell you that "going along" with your stalker won't do any good. At some point in time, there will always be some conflict, and any disagreement will be seen as disobedience and deserving of punishment. "Going along" never saved anyone being abused or "punished" in an abusive relationship.

I was thinking the same thing. My mother was abusive so I am also familiar with situation. It's extremely unhealthy to tell people to "just go along with, it's for your own good"
@giovanniodietz78134 жыл бұрын
My sister has an abusive dad who, when she was younger would hit her with his knees in her face. After he did that she would have her teeth hit back into the gums of her mouth and there was blood and pus coming out of her gums. He would also hit her and stuff, but she would still say "no I ran into a door", "I just fell" and stuff like that. One time she burned herself with a iron and then told people that my mom hit her with a belt! Even after going to court my sister still chose to live with her dad. And now she regrets that decision. So I kinda know what you've gone through not by personal issues tho. And I want you to know that we are here for you! 😊

When Frances had first told Greta about losing her mother they bonded about that, thus explaining her reluctance to have Erika bash her head in. Fun fact; I think the box is actually a Tulipános Láda, aka "tulip chest" which held an important part in the former times of hungarian folks. In those times clothing was a luxury and people often had only one nice outfit for the rest of their lives. The girls from childhood started to sew and collect clothing pieces in preparation for her wedding and stored them in the tulip chests. So basicly all she had (wealth) was stored in the chest. Nowadays its just a heredity and lost its function. I think its a nice little touch, having Greta holding onto a chest which was meant for her daughter

Frances does go to the lost and found after finding the bag on the subway but it’s closed. She also mentions that Erica’s dad bought her the apartment...she also has trustifarian written all over her.

This movie makes me really annoyed, because there’s so many moments in this movie where Francis could’ve got the upper hand/escape. Greta is an *old woman.* when she opened that case Francis was trapped in, why tf didnt she just deck her & run out? honestly

I would love to see a film where a killer lures a victim who also turns out to be a killer, and it is a back and fourth of them trying to trick eachother into a false sense of security.

I watch this movie once a week tbh, it’s awesome. But I do 100% agree that they could have done something more twisted instead of the more dry reused stalker story. Still a well shot and super suspenseful film, just a bit of missed potential. Also, Erika is like the best friend anyone could ask for. My favourite character of the movie and a really good comedic relief from all the suspense.

Actually, this was a pretty good movie. I just didn't like the ending - a failed denouement or worse ... an opening for a sequel that deserves to get made as much as Titanic II .
@poweroffriendship2.03 жыл бұрын
The ending implied that Greta ended up stuck inside the piano forever. I think this added to the mystery of what happened to Greta, and left off to give the audience some imagination. I think the ending in my opinion is pretty good which at least the protagonist is safe.

I know its just something that most characters in horror movies do but why didn't the girl hit the woman in the head a couple of times to make sure the woman stayed knocked out? The victim always only hits the villain once and thinks that's enough to keep them down. Why? Just... Why?

From what I saw in cinemas, there was Stephanie in a body bag when Erica went down to the basement and there were strange symbols on her face and body. Greta also poured some powder on the dead private investigator's face after he was in the basement in a body bag also, so I wonder what that powder was...? I’m not kidding these are the things I want answered ahahah also great video!

The film is set in New York, but was actually filmed in Ireland. However, the subway station scenes where the trains enter the station were filmed in Toronto. Greta's last name, "Hideg", is the Hungarian word for "cold". The distribution rights for the film were bought at the Toronto International Film Festival by Focus Features for $6 million. The original title of the film was "The Widow". The restaurant scenes were shot over the space of a week. By the end of the week, the smell of fish on set was so bad, it made people need to leave early. This is Isabelle Huppert's second time playing a piano teacher in a psychological thriller, having also played one in the thriller The Piano Teacher (2001). Chloe Grace Moretz and Maika Monroe previously worked together on the YA film The 5th Wave (2016). Dominique Franceschi's debut.
