Omg you people need to get out there and search for more music, and that’s coming from someone younger than you. That just shows how little you know if you thought anybody was playing stuff like this in the 80s lol. Even for the 70s, it really doesn't sound much like 70s rock either. This is kind of like the "retrowave" that people think is what synthesizer-heavy pop music was like in the 80s but really wasn't. It's more a neo-rock that has little to do with the era other than to fool people with a passing familiarity of it.

A little bit of Led Zeppelin, a touch of Styx, a splash of Rush, a refreshing sound that takes me back to 1976. These guys are the real deal. This song performance is truly fantastic. 3 brothers and their excellent drummer friend bring a new hope for modern music. I’ve asked many times, “Why aren’t any bands creating music like in the 70s?” Here is the answer. Absolutely amazing performance by these fine young musicians!

This band is all over the place in such a great way! T To anyone who tends to dismiss artists when they first hear them if their sound is a little different or outside of what they traditionally are drawn to musically, I suggest that you open your mind and start digging into this band. They have such an amazing range of styles and cannot be put in a particular box. That’s not always a good thing but in this case it’s perfect. If you give them and chance and listen to all of their stuff, ESPECIALLY anything from live shows, chances are VERY good that you will be glad you did. They continue to evolve as well and they are young. Sky is the limit for this talented group of young men!

@@gordonshumway7756 that’s not even close to true. It’s so low in his range. That effect can be added to vocals by singers easily since he is using his chest voice and not his head voice. He just engages wind in part of his throat that he doesn’t when he sings smoothly. That growl is actually probably pretty natural for him. It’s when people can’t sing and try stuff that stuff that will hurt their voice.

Plant wrote Stairway when he was 23 and would blow this guy off the stage at the same point in his career... Just watched him at the NO Jazz Festival when he was 66. Still a joy to hear and see. I like Greta, but they aren't even in the same league as Zeppelin.

I've just discovered these guys, and while I get your 'chills' claim (as music does that to me too, sometimes), I feel like I'm just short of chills with these guys. There's something not right about them that I can't put my finger on yet, and that feeling is blocking my chills. Right now all I'm feeling is a weird fascination.

@@markengel6570 _explain please_ Hard to explain, and that's why I said I can't quite put my finger on it. But I will say that they're one of a very few number of bands (that I listen to regularly, which is in the dozens) that I can't sing along to...crazy, controlled chaos vocals with mostly indecipherable lyrics. I have been enjoying them in small doses. Also, _good music is good music_ is 100% in the ear of the be-hearer. 😊

Even if openly acknowledging ripping off led Zeppelin isn't a bad thing, the world needs more of this and less of EVERYTHING else out there. IMO.
@colebruce172

I agree. The reason why is because they are creating their own sound. I'll admit I didn't mind them sounding like Led Zeppelin, but I do love them making their own sound now. It's a way to bring back the old in with the new. Even back in the 90s 'the Black Crows' had this Led Zeppelin sound in a way, but mixing it with 90s rock and southern rock. Then, Lenny Kravitz having Jimi Hendrix sound with 90s rock. So, that's how I'm seeing these new rock bands of 2020s like; Greta van Fleet, Dirty Honey and Joyous Wolf along with others a way to bring back the old sound they're bringing back whether it's; Classic Rock, Post-Grunge (which is actually making a huge comeback as well) and Punk Rock in with a new sound. As long as they don't add hip-hop, pop, trap especially and EDM lol. That felt like how the 2010s rock went; beginning making a new sound, but then going all pop, rap and EDM.

I hear you. But let's be honest and give credit where credit is due. They DID start off as a total Zep carbon copy, I don't think anyone can argue this (they did 90% covers in their original shows). My issue is... they denied all this when asked in an interview, which bands influenced them. Respect for your roots. Then move on and become original. BTW, I love GVF.
