I am watching this in 2019. I admired Gretchen back then when she bravely exposed the scam in that particular movie award, knowing fully well that she was gonna be up against the big guns in show business, the likes of Lolit Solis and the "basagulera" Annabel Rama. But still, she had the guts to tell the award fraud that she personally witnessed with her own eyes. It only showed that Gretchen, even back then and she was still very young and at the height of her career, is a woman with conviction for the truth. Whoever wanted to lose her showbiz sparkle and gain enemies mostly from the corrupt and biased movie press? But against all odds, she had to tell the truth without anything to gain from it, but on the contrary, more to lose. Kaya, tingnan nyo naman siya ngayon,,,bukod-tanging pinagpala, sa buhay-pag-ibig at karangyaan sa buhay. Some may hate Gretchen now for being blunt and they say, showing off too much of her material possessions, but that's the luxurious life she actually lives in now. Why should she apologize for it if only to please her detractors who are not gonna say anything good about her even if she sets herself on fire? Let Greta be and leave Greta be.

I wasn't born yet when this happened pero naikwento ito ng tita ko when I ask them about the Gretchen-Ruffa issue. Apparently Lolit Solis and Anabelle Rama cheated the result of the Best Actress award so it go to Ruffa. Gretchen stand as witness on the senate hearing and reveal the whole truth. Siya ang dahilan kanya nahuli sila Lolit Solis, Anabelle Rama, Ruffa, etc. Because she choose to tell the truth nakasuhan sila ng Anabelle ng Estafa. Lolit Solis even admitted in court they did cheated the result to get a lower sentence. She was the only one strong enough to tell the truth. I salute her for that.

Dito maiintindihan why Ruffa Gutierrez is still enemies with Gretchen Barretto because Greta spoke the truth (even if it means Ruffa hating her). And Ruffa NEVER deserved that award, hindi naman talaga magaling umarte si Ruffa. Aiko was a good actress! Of course, ang mastermind ay si Lolit Solis. Speaking of Lolit Solis, kaya gusto ni Lolit na manalo sila Gabby Concepcion and Ruffa because mga alaga kasi ni Lolit sila Gabby at Ruffa. Yun lang, sinira din ni Lolit Solis ang career ni Nanette Medved kasi nagawa ni Lolit na iparte si Nanette sa scheme nya na manalo si Gabby as Best Actor when in fact, EDU MANZANO was the real Best Actor ayon sa award envelope.
