Manhunt and Cuckoo are two of my all time favourite books, I adore Gretchen Felker-Martin's work. Absolute masterclass in queer horror. Hearing Katya talk about how much so loved Manhunt in previous episodes always had me so hype, so beyond happy to see her on the pod!!!

I love that some episodes feel like 'One for them' where Trixie & Katya just vibe, while some you can tell from the jump that they're 100% a Katya choice. This is one of the latter and Katya's sincere joy getting to talk to Gretchen is so heartwarming.

I need Katya to watch Blood Quantum, Indigenous made horror film, AMAZING story and some of the best zombie gore I've ever seen. Premise is that Indigenous peoples are immune to a zombie virus. It's VERY layered, it's my recommendation to any zombie movie/horror fan.

I loved this episode. As a fan of film who can’t really stomach too many horror films, I loved getting a glimpse of Katya and Gretchen At the Movies. I often ask friends to watch horror for me and then recount them to me like storytelling. Now I have more suggestions/requests for them! 🤪 I’ve been too chicken shit to read Manhunt but I liked Gretchen so much in this ep, I’m gonna be brave and make the effort.

I think a big part of The Substance's subtext that goes unappreciated, is how it shows how much damage being "afraid" of ageing can do you. You gotta honor your growth while respecting your inner child & vise versa. Elizabeth hates herself, so she hates Sue, and Sue hates what she is bound to become. It's a genius movie once you really dissect it

@@lexp6099 Also true, but most people seem to zero in on the whole message of sex appeal & how women are treated in the industry, which even I agree is the main point of the film - I should have said "secondary message" instead of subtext. But the fact that Sue and Elizabeth are the same consciousness yet behave the way they do to each other is what really makes it legit profound lol
