WIA Episode 5 | IFUGAO-SAGADA Wonder

They say the mountains can calm you, heal you from a broken heart or give you fresh perspective in life.
In this episode of Woman In Action, we'll continue on with exploring the Cordilleras, this time in Ifugao and Sagada -- from its scenic mountain views, to its rich local culture.
Joining me in this trip is a big fan of the mountains herself, actress Angel Aquino, who grew up studying in UP Baguio, frequenting Sagada during her college days. She'll take us to her advocacy area in Banaue, Ifugao, as we visit the school children of several mountain schools that she has been visiting for her advocacy "Juan Day".
We will also be joined by contemporary indie-folk singer and song-writer Bullet Dumas, who brings the Filipino story and making magic everywhere he goes.

Art, culture, music, coffee, food, spectacular views and a cultivated company. If this isn't the formula to a memorable travel experience, I don't know what is. The north has always mesmerized me. One day, I'd love to go on a quiet retreat there. I heard about the Ifugao rice wine, but it's my first time to know the Ifugaos and Japanese had a close relationship before the war. I dint know that ‘bayah or tapuy’ Ifugao rice wine is same with the japanese ‘sake’ japanese rice wine wow! The traditional woodcarving ‘pah-ot’, ricewine or ‘bayah’, ‘Imbayah’ or ‘tayao’ is slowly been modernized, lucky we are that in my generation, naalala ko pa that in my family both sides, even my great great grand father was one of the greatest woodcarver and canao artist during the american-japanese regime…I adore and proud to be one of the Ifugao tribe in my generation… Thank you Miss Gretchen Ho and your team for your kind heart of generosity and for featuring the beauty of my heritage, ‘The Ifugao’ and being nursed by one of us…Matago tago ka, Hagiyoh Ifugao!💕

I get it what Angel meant when she said 9:39, one thing I like/love about Sagada people there are a bit reserved(generally Cordillerans), they respect everyone's space/privacy. They don't really bother you going around even if the person is famous unlike in the lowlands w/ left & right hi/hello guys!(papansin) much more when holding a camera vlogging around which could be annoying at some point.
