Thank you for showing Gretsch, I play a Gretsch and can't love my guitar more. Bucket list however is the 1967 Fender Wildwood, someday, but for now loving the Gretsch they are great playing and sounding guitars.

Not many people will know that is an old Chet Atkins song. Nice pick of songs.

Mr. Sandman is the song and for those that have never played a Gretsch they sound good for any type of music from country to rock, jazz and surf. They have very fast necks and even the cheaper guitars are pretty high quality. And yes I also own Martins, Gibson's, Fenders, Rickinbacker's and Ibanez. But my Gretsch is my most play guitar sense I bought it three years ago.

A song that should be performed on this particular guitar, is a song called "If This House Could Talk" by Smiley Bates.

hey mark-great job on mr. sandman. you sound exactly like the chet atkins vid that I've watched dozens of times. I own so many guitars I've lost track, but I only own one Gretsch. it's a 1965 6122 chet atkins country gentleman. I bought the 1965 catalog and this was the guitar pictured on the front cover. it still had grover stairstep imperials, not the kidney bean style. it did have the supertron neck pickup. as you can tell by my user name, I wanted it to look exactly like George Harrisons. I somehow got in touch with Duke Kramer. I drove to Richmond, Va from Virginia Beach, Va and he had brought down a new pair of filtertrons (we had discussed this via a phone call) so I bought them. Duke was the president of the Baldwin era of Gretsh guitars and still had all of the remaining parts. He lived in Cincinnati, Oh, so when I visited my brother in Columbus, Oh we drove down Dukes house. I bought all new knobs, the bigsby g6 tailpice so it matched the new shiney gold pickups. I had brought the guitar with me and he was kind enough to remove the back pad and wrote on the plastic cover "This is truly a great guitar" and then he signed his name. my brother took a picture of Duke and me holding the guitar. I had the picture framed and is still sitting on top of my dresser door, I see it every night when I go to bed. P.S. Sorry, I didn't mean to write a book

Mark, with all due respect. If you were working and demonstrating vintage guitars in a shop I owned, you would not be playing them with a zipper up front. You should be wearing a shirt with no buttons or zippered front. Just saying.

Not bad, listen to Chet Atkins, the read deal!! Beautiful guitar, looks and sound! But look at that awful, awful,. . Falcon??? On scratch plate! Looks more like a tatty, stuffed, clumsy vulture!! Falcons are Sleak, fast, powerful they rock! don't look like that, Says nothing for the character and personality of guitar, let's it down in my opinion!
